hey ladies

question 1 : has doing squats made your butt bigger? also has it made ur hips bigger?

question 2 : are squats better or box squats?

Q1. No - eating too much has made my butt bigger!

Q2. I do both - different weeks (week 1 - box squats, week 2 - squats, week 3 - back to box squats)

I have a squaters ass but it has always stuck out, I guess the difference is earlier in life it was mostly lard where is now it is more muscle. I think a good combination of squats, box squats and walking lunges help. Diet is the no. 1 thing as Flamer said also, my ass is 2 sizes bigger after competing with the extra junk in the junk. :?

Squats will add muscle to your butt for sure :nod:

If you're already carrying a bit of fat there (uhh.. :oops: ) then it could give the appearance of having a biggER butt. Lose the fat though, and you too can have a big firm muscley butt lol. And its a myth that squats make your hips bigger either. Eating too much makes your hips bigger.

Re: Box squats vs normal... You could do what Flamer does and vary both types of squats?

yes! but i think u need to do weights, in particular weights that target the back of ur thighs or butt.. or where ever ur cellulite is

my cellulite has gone from 100% to 50% since doing weight training on the back of my legs! \:D/

you'll just have to do some cardio and weight training.... ur fat is not spread out evenly ... u have to help it spread out evenly... u can also masage the regions infested wit cellulite....... we have this glute machine at the gym ( i love it!) it has a roller and wen i push back the roller slides up the back of my thigh.. so i get a butt work out and a my cellulite gets evened out :D

Any time you consume more than your body needs you will put on weight. For women, a lot of this seems to go to our rear ends!

As for what I eat - generally whatever isn't nailed down! Too much chocolate & fairy mushrooms. But, I'm happy to balance my 'bad habits' with cardio.

My squat sessions are generally quite long - 4 - 7 sets, reps decrease with weight. Warm up on bar only (20kg) working up to 85-100kg. It takes more than just squats to get a good butt. Lunges, good mornings, stiff leg deadlifts, leg lifts..........CARDIO!
