Bikini Division for IFBB

I see that the USA NPC are running a Bikini Division. What do you all think about having this run in NZ by the NZFBB.

Here is some of the NPC competitor rules.

Competitors will compete in a two-piece suit. The bottom of the suit must be v-shape. No thongs are permitted. Competitors can compete in an off the rack suit. All swimsuits must be in good taste.

Competitors must wear high heels.

Competitors may wear jewelry.

Competition Judging by the NPC.

Presentation:

Competitors will walk onstage alone and perform their Model Walk (personal preference)

The Model Walk consists of the following:

Walk to the center og the stage, stop and do a front stance then a full turn and do a rear stance then turn to the front again in front of the judges and then proceed to the side of the stage.

Comparison Round, Two-Piece Swimsuit:

Competitors will be judged wearing a two-piece swimsuit and heels.

The competitors will be brought out in a group and directed to do a full front and rear stance.

Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors againts each other in half turns. (No side judging permitted, front and back only)

Judges will be scoring competitors on the following items:

Balance and Shape

Overall physical appearance incliding complexion, skin tone, poise and overall presentation.

So girls who's for it and do you think it will work here if it come's in this year of next year.

The way things are going I'd imagine a mens bikini competition will be on the cards soon.......... :pfft:

Seriously though Bodybuilding is heading into dangerous territory opening up too many divisions - everyone gets a medal as TC used to say.

Sure run a bikini comp alongside it to bring in spectator numbers (as they did with Strongest Arms in Welly or the Strongman/Powerlifting at the Arnold), but don't promote it as BBing and have the general public believe that wearing a bikini makes someone a bodybuilder. Most people on the street think Mr Athletic competitors are bodybuilders already........ what the hell would Dorian or the Barbarian Brothers think about the direction BBing appears to be taking?!!

As an IFBB judge over here in Aust, I will be refusing to judge it.

In fact I don't know of anyone that I judge with that will judge it.

We all hate the idea.

It sucks big time.

The IFBB are the only federation not to put on some stupid fucking bikini class, now they have simply chased the extra dollars that they hope to make rather than stick to their guns.

They should hang their heads in shame.

Sorry natural i am not like that. But i am in full support for woman and girls to take pride in themself as bodybuilding is very hard to get recognition by there peers.

this "bikini" class is not bodybuilding though

figure is already considered a glorified beauty pagent by many

and others see physique as your only true female bodybuilders.

to be honest; if i got big enough though still competed in figure, im sure i'd still be reluctant to call myself a bodybuilder-merely for the fact im not in physique class.

if chicks, god forbid, want go down the bikini line, either do something like miss hawaiian tropics, or do shape-its already a cataogry set up for that softer, feminine look.

Yes, indeed - both he and the other Mike (Debenham) are legends on the dance floor ... as I witnessed personally on a VERY late night out with these two after the 2008 Wellington Champs last April! \:D/
