Good new thread to start.........no-compromise, bare basic supplements.

Lets see who can come up with the shortest supplement list, that no-one else can improve on...

You could probably get the list down to none, though I like my supps and will always try a new one, my regular supps though are whey , multi and efa the others i might run for a month here and there

Thinking calories were the be-all and end-all.

When I was 21 and dumb I read on the net that a good way to spark weight-gain is to have a big binge.

I did 15,000 calories over a weekend and ended up at about 72kg having put on 3 kg.

I was doing things like eating a whole Ernest Adams slice or a box of Snax in one sitting. 1,000 cals a pop!

Hmmm.

Overtraining would have to be mine.

When i first got commited to working out. Boy was I working out.

Doing weights here, and there. Then after couple of hours would bust out some pushups and pull ups.

I kept doing push ups, When i was suppose to be resting. I would always think. Damn needa pump more. Get down and bust out the pushups. ALso had a db in my room, so would bust out the bicepts as well when i got bored.

Blardy shocking.

Cool topic! Makes me crack up thinking bout what i used to do when i first started lifting. I made all the common mistakes that alot of the previous posters mentioned, like overtraining, frying CNS, putting alot of emphasis on isolation exercises to get big, spot reduction....the list goes on.

Cant really say ive made the mistake of not eating enough. I've always had a big appetite lol and i was lickin my chops at the thought of 6+ meals a day. Have always been a big meat eater but made the mistake of not gettin enough fibre and not drinking enough water. Without gettin too graphic lets just say it was a painful lesson to learn :?

Oh yeah and thinkin i could get big/lean while binge drinking twice a week :D

Not checking the pin was engaged on the seated calve raise machine. Had it loaded up and thought i was looking cool and ripped at it to get the lock out of the way but because of the pin not being in on the knee adjustment me and the knee stopper went launching backwards and hit the wall. When i got up ( somewhat stunned by it all) everyone was just staring at me like what is this idiot doing. But back in my first year it was making the mistake of training 6 days a week with lack of rest and good nutrition.

In my early teens for the first few months, I thought that if you trained a body part over and over again it would get bigger and bigger. :naughty:

Trained chest and arms everyday for about 2 months till I brought my first mag. hehehehe

An Eddie Robbinson article soon put me right. :pfft:

Believing Massive Weight Gainer would put on muscle especially if I mixed ice cream with it. I did put on weight and with it a big pot gut as massive weight gain was 20 percent fat without the ice cream. Split my pants and nearly had a heart atttack climbing stairs.
