WHEY PROTEIN

I'd like to know if someone there ever had the idea to buy whey directly from the producers in 20kg bags, separate and sell for the people. It's much cheaper and I heard many times also that the best whey in the world is produced on New Zealand. Here in Brazil there's a guy that do it and sell the whey on plastic bags. More or less 40 reais the kg. If you buy from other brands you'll pay 50 in a cheap one and from 100 till 200 reais or a bit more in the imported brands. The problem is that they cheat on some national brands and mix a bit of powdered milk. Even optimum suffered with that some time ago. This one is more trustable cause it doesn't have even taste... it's pure whey with NOTHING mixed.

1 nz dollar = 1,15 reais today, sometimes 1,31

Hi Thor

Sure you can in Brazil, but there are two good reasons that people don’t do this in New Zealand.

New Zealand has strong laws that ensure the food we buy is safe to eat, especially dairy products. The manufacture, packing, labelling and selling food of items is tightly controlled so that we don’t get sick or die. These laws carry a variety of penalties that range from fines to imprisonment. In a case where you separate and sell to the people and your product made someone ill (simply because you didn’t wash your hands properly) then the penalties become very serve. You might make a few dollars profit, but it would cost you 100 times as much in lawyers fees to defend yourself.

Secondly, no one will buy your product. People rely on product labels and a reputable brand to ensure the food they eat is safe. Your plastic bag of powder could contain anything!

I don't thing you can die for it. Maximum pee by the ass haha

Anyway here someone wouldn't sue someone because it, probably cause we have too much problems in other areas that people don't care for "small" things like it as will time a lot of time to get it solved. The point here isn't make some dollars but have access to really cheap protein. If it's a problem to someone sell, you can at least buy with friends and divide among you. I don't know there, but here they just sell for industries (pessoa jurídica - when you have a paper proving you have an industry and buy using the name of it) and minimum 40kg (it comes in 20kg package, so minimum 2). So it's A LOT OF MONEY to buy alone.
