mens classic class?

Thanks very much for mentioning this, Boris - I had no idea the formulas and posing rules had changed (on March 21 this year). Up until then, the 3 height classes (and required poses) matched the official IFBB standard, but if they have changed then the NZFBB judges need to be informed so we can implement these at our next event - in Chch on Sept 12, which I assume you will be competing in again this year? I was looking after the music at that show, and also competed in the Classic class there in 2007. 2007 had 7 decent competitors and I was certainly very impressed with the quality of last year's line up (including you and weener lad) and I was a bit surprised not to see you at Nationals last October.

Yes I am planning to compete in Ch-ch, then Nationals and possibly at Masters Wolds in Poland this year.

So what are the new height class / weight standards MasterTel if we follow IFBB? I follow this very closely as Im envisaging a move over to Classic down the track but need to know where the bar is set....

Thanks

ds

Hey, ds - according to the latest rules (which I only discovered on the IFBB site this morning), here are the new formulas:

1. Up to & incl 170 cm

Max Weight [kg] = (Height [cm] – 100) + 2 [kg]

2. Up to & incl 175 cm

Max Weight [kg] = (Height [cm] -100) + 4 [kg]

3. Up to 180cm

Max Weight [kg] = (Height [cm] -100) + 6 [kg]

4. Over 180 cm

Max Weight [kg] = (Height [cm] -100) + 8 [kg]

Note 1: For competitors with a body height of over 190 cm up and up to and including 198 cm, the following formula will be used:

Max Weight [kg] = (Height [cm] – 100) + 9 [kg]

Note 2: For competitors with a body height of over 198 cm, the following formula will be used:

Max Weight [kg] = (Height [cm] – 100) + 10 [kg]

Note 3: All of the above mentioned competitors will participate in the “Over 180 cm” category.

I will pass this new info to our judges and I will confirm if we will move to this new structure immediately (which is the logical solution) or wait until after Nationals.

As in previous years, we will still just have one Classic class at all of our shows, until we get significant enough numbers to justify splitting it into 2 or more classes.

That's great, Boris. Obviously you will doing the Master's class in Chch and Auckland if you are aiming for the Masters Worlds - the Classic class is contested at a different IFBB World Event (in November sometime - where and when is to be confirmed).

As far as I now it will be the first time an open Classic Bodybuinding Class at Masters Worlds in Poland 13-16 November. I looked at the informaton letter from IFBB web site - that what is says.

In Ch-ch and Auckland it will be no Masters Class in Classic Bodybuilding so I will just do an open Classic Bodybuiding. In the case if I will do well at Nationals I hope it will be enough to qualify for Masters Wolds.

This is the plan.

Alright, i have decided that i am going to give the Classic Mens class at the NZFBB South Islands a go this year.

Just need to make the weight restriction for the class and get in condition.

Height: 1:79cm

Anyone else going to compete in this class?
