dont be like that 1day he actually has a very good argument for the good of the sport, he isnt bagging it he is suggesting improvements that he feels would open the sport up to a wider audience etc.

dont see any harm in it....?

Bah.......don't bother mate.

Anyone who posts suggestions on how to improve the sport is simply labelled as being negative on this forum.

God forbid we should have differing opinions to armchair experts like 1day or chickenman.

yes i get that things dont run as smoothly as pos in our shows and yes i know it is sad to see awards being handed out because of lack of competitors and yes it would be great to see more interst/supporters in the sport .

we all get it ,so u dont have to repeat urself 20times and only come on this site to complain about sumthing else you feel is wrong with this sport and go on and on and on and on

so when you get a very tall guy that has symetry and leanness(probly on the gear) etc he will clean up over a short ass.

Is that so one day? I am 6'4 and 118kg so does that automatically spell steriods to you to? I stood next to you in the foyer and you didn't strike me as an expert on the subject based on how you look.

Its a body building show not the olympics - lets keep the bullshit comments about athletes out of the forum, unless they are happy to discuss it openly.

FYI - Jo Ulberg won the Pan Pacific Champion title when he was 19 - as an open competitor from memory - he had been training for 3 years before that - - A lot of test running around your system at that age.

LOL.........gotta love arseholes who post assumptions under the guise of being an expert.

Keep going 1day, you'll eventually win someone over.

It's actually an appropriate user name you have there 1day - maybe one day you will post something that has a little bit of intelligence or substance about it.

Not everyone who has a half decent physique is on the gear - some people actually train and diet hard for their results.

Try showing a little more respect to those that have.

Don't start digging yourself a hole mate, because I'll bury you in it.

I stated that your user name was appropriate, I said nothing about your life story.

You did not state any facts, you simply made a broad assumption and got called out by Optimass.

Better go over those previous posts and see what you have written, its there in black and white for everyone to read.

Keep digging that hole mate, its getting deeper.

I would advise you to keep your imput minimal so as not to continually make yourself look like a dill.

Enough of the trophy jokes mate or I will get the shits!

This was really just a "trophy presentation" between me and 1day.

I had zero competition.

no small daniel hibbs was not lucky he looked amazing shape leanness symetry proportion
thats what i was getting at :? face was mocking. exactly he had an entire package presentation; just like tesina V kahlid
but you missed my point entirely

he is not overly tall if a guy was over 6ft in his condition symetry etc they would win

but what you failed to understand is that being over 6ft it is harder for guys to get there

but if they do they are unbeatable

i disagree. i havent missed your point at all. actually what i disagree with is the substance of your arguement.

a big guy WONT nessecarily win over a small guy; toney freeman is yet to win a mr olympia: dex jackson won last year. hes not even that tall, and toney is both huge and tall.

theres flaws to your argument and exceptions to evey rule-"if your tall and big" rule you suggest doesnt mean you are guarnteed a title

Congratulations on showing your ignorance 1day.

It's quite obvious that you don't know too much about bodybuilding competitions.

Everyone who goes to a bodybuilding competition does so because they have a friend in it.

There are no longer people from the general public who go to watch a bodybuilding show like they used to 20, 30, 40yrs ago.

Bodybuilding no longer attracts outsiders to competitions.

It is a known fact that the easiest way to get bums on seat to a bodybuilding show is to offer lots of entry-level (Novice) classes to attract first-time competitors.

This in turn will ensure that they bring along lots of friends, as these poor bastards have no idea what they are in for.

Open class competitors are lucky to attract one or two people to a show, if anyone at all.

Their friends and family have all seen them compete many times before and know only full well that they will have to sit through 6-10hrs of boredom just to see their friend win his class against 1 or 2 other competitors.

There are virtually no fans left who will buy a seat to a bodybuilding show, but those who do usually give up by the half time break as they are generally falling asleep after watching class upon class of 2-3 athletes that all look the same as the class before them.

This is why we are seeing most promoters and federations putting on "trophy presentations".

Rather than trying to build the sport up and create high standard shows, its much easier to tempt newbies with the knowledge that they will be going home with a shiny new plastic trophy and the opportunity to put a "paper-title" on their PTing business card that they got 3mths earlier.

They are now "seasoned" competitors and have far more knowledge than champions who have trained for 20yrs+ because they won a contest after training for only 6mths.

They stay in the sport for a year or two, then disappear without a trace soon after when they realise that it actually takes a little bit more than just 6mths of training to build a quality physique and that their PTing course that they did taught them absolutely jack-shit about anything except how to market yourself.

As these people leave the sport, new people just like them enter the sport and the cycle begins again.

So where does this leave the hardcore bodybuilder who has spent 10-20yrs in the sport?

They get nothing.

They are expected to compete year after year in poorly run shows that offer absolutely no incentives whatsoever for them to dedicate the time, effort and money that it requires for them to compete at such a high level.

To add insult to injury, they are put on at the end of the show in front of small crowds, as the bulk of the crowd have left hours ago due to boredom.

This my ignorant friend is the evolution of what is now know as a bodybuilding comp.

A show put on to make a quick buck for the promoter with scant regard for the serious hardcore competitors and fans or the future improvement of the sport.

Thank you for allowing me to educate you 1day.

This is exactly what both BBing affiliations have come to in NZ, Outlaw. Politics needs to be chucked out, pompous speeches by so called executive members need to be eliminated, groups need to be tightened up into fewer categories, dancing girls & bikini shows should be keep out of shows & generally get back to what used to happen 10 years ago where you actually got to see a bodybuilding show for bodybuilders that took a couple of hours at most in the evening.

mmmm toney freeman is huge but not as ripped symetrical and pleasing to look at symetricaly as dexter

what ive said is a big guy in the same condition shape symetry beats a smaller guy with the same package

i never said a tall big guy should win because hes bigger all i said its harder for taller guys to get the same look as shorter guys

no matter how many times i repeat that you dont get it.

I think I'm in love - will you marry me?

Without wanting to sound too cocky, I thought my post was a pretty accurate assessment on the state of bodybuilding in Australia and obviously now NZ.

yep i will and i said before i never saw the show and didnt see the competitors on stage

but you are most likely right t maybe should have won

i wouldnt want a guy to win just because hes tall or big only if hes in better condition shape symetry etc then being bigger is the advantage

are we still friends small
