From what I have seen from the photos from the show hear on this site including on facebook and Go figure as well.It looked like a great show to watch Mike D is looking lean and outstanding, I will pick Moe to be in the top five at the Olympia this year. For the bikini girls standing in front of the judges and the people who watched the show good on them for doing so and I think $600 prize money is good money for the winnner of that class.I have been thinking since I have seen the photos from the show man I wish went to that show one more other thingh good on Moe for bring Jenn Gates out to NZ.Well done to all who compet.

Firstly congrads to all who competed and BIG MD we want to see this routine before you fly out.

BUT...............

Not bad for $600.00 to stand in front of everyone in a bikini... Good on you.

Please tell me this isn't true.

Did NATO receive $600 worth of prizes for his overall win????? Does any bodybuilder of any class get even close to a prize package worth this, I think not.

It's a bodybuilding comp how about the major rewards go to those who spend months (if not years) working on their physique and give the minor prizes to the bikini models who wouldn't have put in that sort of time.

This is exactly what I was trying to say in my post or imply atleast.... Ffs that's such bullshit ahy. I doubt they spent the amount of time / effort as some of the competitors.. (No hate)

I have to agree with BG, Outlaw you say the same thing over and over again. We get it, let it go. If people get trophys then good on them, I'm not sure why its such a big deal (and please don't repeat all your arguements again, they have been taken onboard).

Mate, you don't get it at all.

You haven't taken my arguments on board, you simply try to fob them off and hope that I don't bring it up again.

Giving competitors trophy's just for turning up is making a mockery of the sport.

How is bodybuilding ever going to get any acceptance when we run "trophy presentations" disguised as bodybuilding comps?

People aren't silly, these are not contests.

No wonder people leave shows early, they are bored to tears.

How many people will come back and watch a poorly run trophy presentation?

Not many.

Competitors deserve a contest and so do the fans.

The gig guy in the red shirt Darren's deadlifting around 280 these days, (as alluded to by MikeK) he is a big unit. Works at the same company as me and i'm really hoping he comes up against Nato at this years Nationals, could be one hell of a showdown!

What a fantastic show, I really enjoyed it, feeling very inspired!

Great to meet some of you and put faces to names I didn't go to the meet up it was past my bedtime! Here's some pics

Dear Lord, I do hope your inspiration has nothing to do with the UNbikini models in the bikini model class, unless its because you are better in a bikini than that mob were which would not be hard. Hell where did they find that bunch? Most of them looked like Fat O Grams LOL :pfft:

Moe come on brother pleeease

After reading your comments andymac I felt compelled to register simply to express my digust at your viscous comments towards the bikini models. You say you would never say it to their faces - is that because you would not want to hurt their feelings or because you are a coward? Perhaps instead of saying it to the world it would be more polite to say it to their faces. I was in the bikini model class so now you have the chance to say what you think directly to me. I would just love to hear what you think of my appearance seeing you have already shared your views with everyone else.

Lisa. Not mad just shocked. Im not a bikini model so Im not worried if someone thinks Im not up to bikini comp standard. Im a dancer who was asked to be in a bikini comp and could win money so why not. Just shocked by the personal attack! Oh well aye guess people got nothing better to do.

Sorry Lisa, this person expressed a bit too much personal opinion directly at the girls which is a little too common on an anonymous public forum. It's not condoned by the majority of the regulars here

Some good points made before the rubish posts started to come through.

As a promoter i know what a massive undertaking it is to put on a show, you can be asured Moe has learnt some things, and you will see a much more stream lined show next yr. As a Propmotor you want the crowd to get there moneys worth and rembering that for Moe running around the night would have flowen, so it is easy to loose track of the time. lets keep some good + critism or suggestion but lets give Moe a bit of support and watch for some improvemnt next yr, im sure there will be plenty

As for the attack at the Bikini Girls, these girls did the best with what they were dumped into, i dont think myself it has a place in a BBing show, buts lets not give these young dancers that were asked to step out of what they have been training to do and do something foregin such a hard time ESP about there body condition. back stage these girls looked fit healthy and well toned, they then went up on stage with lighting set up for heavily tanned BBers, with out the tan, so i think they deserve a break and even an appology for some of the comments on here.

Just a couple of other quick points regarding the organization. Yes there were time delays, and no it's not the first time in any show from either a new or very very experience promoters this has happened in NZ.

Craig, did the Country Classic go off perfectly the very first time you ran it in every facet?

I recall the 04 Oz pro show getting some critique over the house music including some off colour music (I was there and can confirm this too, not a report thrid hand) and yet Tony has taken on the advice and I'm know will have improved this part of his show to the exceptionally high standard it is. But still it was a mistake from a very very experienced promotor.

As to the "trophy show", should we condone those that turn up because others don't, a fairer reflection for your knowledge is that this show exceeded past early shows in both competitor numbers and quality, often with classes not, the masses usually turn up in the events closer to nationals to qualify in one diet per year.

I can understand the combining of classes, there could be an argument made that a competitor that is for example a 70-80k Novice men, who gets lumped in with the 80-90k novice men and perhaps come 4th in a class made up to be 6 with the top 3 spots filled by the larger competitors (80-90) and the bottom 3 by the (70-80) are disadvantaged as they did not turn up to compete against that weight level and may not have depleted water so heavily or similar practices if they were to know this was happening. They don't mix weight classes for weightlifting at the Olympics do they? There has been a recent change back from the 5kg category increments of a few years ago as per the international standard to make the classes more competitive, should we go back to the under and over 75kg categories of 1990?

So kudos to those that showed up IN SHAPE, there efforts were appreciated by this spectator.

I can assure you all of a couple of points- more things went right than wrong, and one of the reasons for the delayed start that you may not be aware of was the distribution on stage of prizes for EVERY competitor before the show started.

At least the competitors were at the heart of the competition.

I would add....where was the coffee guy out the front, cruel and inhumane treatment of spectators in my books.

Otherwise a solid B+ from me, and great potential to be an A+ show.

Phew. I finally made it to the 8th page. :P

Guys, it's perfectly acceptable to vent your spleen here - hell, we encourage it! However, please keep your comments as fair and balanced as possible. Remember, we do not allow personal attacks, and anyone breaking this rule (as Andymac did) will be suspended from the forum.

I'd also request that you say your bit, then move on. There's no need to keep repeating yourself. Otherwise this topic will drag on longer than the evening competition did.
