Thanks guys, cheers JamesR32gtr :pfft:

I didn't nail my conditioning, but 2nd place in what was one of the toughest divisions of the comp is a good result.

Thanks to Terry for an outstanding show. Thanks to Beckie, Bevan and the crew for getting me tanned up in world record time after I was day dreaming in the crowd. Thanks to Mark for buying us a few extra mins and supreme organisation backstage.

It was good fun and I look forward to seeing you all again sometime.

Cheers

I've finally worked out which one you are and which division. Yeah, that was the men's one that I was surprised at the result, and thought you had it (in my completely inexpert opinion!).

Terry the show was great well organised and a great spectacle. Jonah is a great guy I have know him for at least 13 years always been a truly lovely person down to earth and a great fella. He looked great but did need to be allot leaner but all due respect to him for getting up there. Anyone who says our sport is easy has another thing coming.

Right, I think I've recovered sufficiently to make some comments on the show.

Firstly, thank you all very much for your compliments and positive feedback. It was a real pleasure as always to put on an event for such a talented, entertaining and quality group of 47 competitors .. and of course a bumper and enthusiastic audience!

Once again we had helpers (4 of them) pull out on the morning of the event. Very frustrating, especially when it means other already busy people had to cover for them. But once again my magnificent team of helpers who were there did a completely professional and masterful job of putting the show together!

As for Jonah - his presence made this a show to remember. He is such a humble guy and I was wary of making too much of his involvement (out of respect to the other competitors) but how can you not be overawed by the big guy - not only one of NZ's greatest sporting legends but an international icon.

OK, he wasn't as lean as many of the other competitors. But if those other competitors had suffered the medical problems that Jonah continues to struggle with many would be lucky to be alive let alone training like a demon and dazzling us with his moves on the stage! For the ignorant people calling him "fat", just remember he has never proclaimed himself to be a top-notch bodybuilder and no bodybuilder (even Olympia champions) have perfect physiques. This has been a dream of Jonah's since he was 11, and he was doing it for many selfless reasons - to support his Mixed Pairs partner (cancer sufferer Tracy Toulis) and his desire to promote bodybuilding. He is a giant in every aspect - stature, courage, dignity and generosity, as is his friend and trainer Joe Ulberg. Petty minded individuals like some who have posted here should take a good look at themselves before trying to drag great men like Jonah down to their extemely low level.

Sorry, I wanted to make this a positive post. Thanks again to everyone for their kind comments and I hope you all keenly support all events coming up in the next few weeks regardless of which organisation is running them!
