Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey - Root Beer Float

optimum-100-whey-gold-5lb.jpg

Serving Size 1 Scoop (31g)

Servings Per Container 29

Amount Per Serving % Daily Value

Calories 120

Calories From Fat 10

Total Fat 1g 2%*

Saturated Fat 0.5g 3%*

Cholesterol 40mg 13%*

Sodium 110mg 5%

Total Carbohydrate 3g 1%

Sugars 1g

Protein 24g

Vitamin A 0 0%

Vitamin C 0 0%

Calcium 100 10%

Iron 0 0%

For reference I always review my protein mixed with chilled water in a shaker with nothing added or in a blender with water and ice.

Taste - Maybe if you are in love with Root Beer you might like this. Tastes like chemicals and creamy and mouthwash.

4/10

Sweetness - Not too sweet.

8/10

Texture - Quite "thin" in water, I think they could do with some thickener in this stuff. I'm sure it would be much better with milk, this stuff might actually taste nice.

7/10

Nutrient Profile - As with most of the other flavors in ON 100% Whey there is 120 calories per scoop and when you are getting a flavor hit like this I am more than happy with the calories, and with only 1 gram of fat per serving and 4g of carbohydrates it is still very low carbohydrate friendly.

7/10

Mixability - This stuff mixes very, very well, just like all the ON 100% Whey I have tried. Water + a shaker is all you need, a few quick shakes and there will be no powder left on the bottom or sides.

9/10

Smell in packet - Holy crap this smells like a combo of mouthwash and vitamin c. Dude.

4/10

Smell in shake - This smells like mouthwash and chemicals. And kind of makes you dry wretch.

4/10

Cost - As with most flavours of ON you can pick this up for relatively cheap from a online store or even from New World. Except I hope they don't sell this flavour in NZ.

8/10

Side Effects - None so far

9/10

Overall 6.6/10Don't buy this flavour, unless you are in love with Root Beer. Even then you will probably be sorely disappointed...

Hi,

I am new here, but have been lurking for awhile. Im keen to mix up my whey, should I should consider ON whey or just continue with Horleys Ripped Factors?

Horleys is over priced imo. Check out http://www.punchsupplements.co.nz/ or http://www.shotgunsupplements.co.nz/. Here's a link to Monkey's protein comparison which you may help you choose file.php?id=5991&mode=view.

I looked at the spreadsheet.. what sort of why would you recommend? Im doing a cut atm, trying to get my body down to a nice base to bulk in a few months. My friend suggested the Ripped Factors so I gave that ago, but most people on bb.com suggest ON 100% or Gaspari Myofusion..

Myofusion is not Whey it only contains some whey, everyone is doing blends(MYOFUSION) to make more profits, it is even suggested by contract manufacturers to do blends as you will reap more profits.

I would go for http://www.EATME.net.nz, if not EATME ,you can get your stuff at http://www.NUtratech.co.nz, saw this morning they are $7 cheaper on ON 100% Whey than Shotgun, got a mail this morning from Nutra as well, they are doing 2% on everything if you use the word two as coupon code which will bring the 100% Whey to $9.5 cheaper.

Eatme is still cheaper btw

Had a look at eatme, might consider it. I think i'll try the ON whey as many have said its similar to Ripped Factors just a bit cheaper. IMO I think that ON is less pure than Ripped Factors.
