Hey, I Am New

Hi everyone, My name is Tracy, and I am trying to get into the right head space to get back into this great sport.

I started making some head way last year, but then my marriage broke up, and i kinda fell off the rails, with lots of drinking and partying. So here I am, carrying a little xtra weight, and after the first week back at the gym. Is it a good thing that it takes me nearly half an hour to sit down? Hahahaha.

Soooo If you have one piece of advice for a newby what would it be? :D

Diet, yeah well pretty general at this stage. My biggest problem is that I love coke and chocolate. I have cut both out. But that has only bee a couple of days. lol. I now only drink soda water, porriage for breakfast. chicken or omelett or salad for lunch. steak, venison or chicken and veges for dinner. I need to find some good reciepes, as I am not that flash in the kitchen. have just run out of protien powder. which I use in shakes, and in my porriage.

you should have 6 small meals per day rather than 3 big ones. this way your metabolism is working all the time and will quicken up helping with fat loss :nod:

Hey Welcome!

Hope your diet goes well! And Hope you push it as far as you can at the gym.

Advice? = Stay positive, no matter what, just stay positive. If you eat a crappy meal or if you don’t go to the gym, don’t beat yourself up, just think positive and Do don’t try.

Do affirmations every single day if you are of a nature of learning by audiotiral or a Kinestic technique. Stuff like " I no longer need junk food " , " Junk food is for losers and im WINNER ", “ Im going to tear up the gym today “ anything that sells your brain into the new direction and sets up a confirmation of succession.

Lots of positive stuff! Cuz belive me the world needs it. Being Mean and negative and hatefull went out of fashion on April 30th 1945.

Yeah welcome aboard.

One piece of advice... I usually don't have a problem with working out several times a week, but when I was just starting out (and very occasionally these days) I would find it difficult getting motivated to start my workout, and would just put it off till the next day... the next day... the next day....

JUST DO IT \:D/ I find once you're under way, its all good.... but that initial "starting motivation thing" can be the difference between an occasional workout here and there, and a workout routine which gets results.

Thanks to everyone that posted useful advice. :P I have been four days this week, rotating workingout the top and then the bottom. Not one part on my body not hurts. lol. But I am lifting much heavier weights than I was doing last year.

A guy in the gym even said to me the other day, "You are lifting heavy weights for a girl." lol. Made me laugh.
