Yeah I've been interest in D9 for a few months, I'm unsure whether the aliens are supposedly friendly but are infact trying to take over the world or they are friendly and the human that sprays himself with some chemical is what causes the fighting between the humans and the aliens

From what I've read and heard from other people on youtube etc, us bastard humans are seen as the aggressors while the aliens/robot things came in peace and we are keeping them here agaisnt their will, for a purpose unknown. (Until we get to see the movie.)

Rather than the usual, cliched 'aliens are the baddies'.

I hope the film has the aliens kicking the shit out of us we deserve it LOL. Makes a change.

Having watched all the 'Alien' movies, Pitch Black and others of the Sci-Fi genre I wouldn't say we ever kick the aliens assess. Normally there are only a couple humans that survive the whole ordeal but the concept of friendly aliens in D9 is interesting. They are still scary as f*ck and intimidating but they aren't mindless killing machines which is a nice change. I may wait for this one to come out on DVD though, it seems a little 'low budget' for it to be worth seeing in the movies (It would be different if Jackson had directed it ofcourse :P).

Fair enough. Well, I didnt go see Terminator as it looked really shit, and from just looking at its trailer, I wasnt convinced it would be good enough to spend $17 or whatever it is to go see it. Too much money.

Many a time in the past I've gone to the cinema with high hopes from trailors and been really dissapointed and pissed off that I spent that much money on a wank film. :?

Haha yeah I know exactly what you mean. I actually went to see Terminator though, at Hoyts, on their new "XTREME SCREEN". The opening scene of Terminator literally blew me out of my seat . The screen is rediculously big, the base is rediculously intense, it really felt very XTREME. I liked it but it's not a movie you really missed out on

Sweet I wanted to try that Xtreme screen out.

I'll wait til Terminator comes on DVD. Will definately go see District 9 tho.

Also, me and my mates found out a great trick if you become quickly dissapointed with the movie you piad for, or you just want to be cheeky and blag as many movies for free as possible.

We'd walk out of one movie and go into another, or finish watching one movie and go into another one straight after, without staff seeing. They rarely catch you. Go on, get ya moneys worth!!!

Haha makes sense, having 1 person at the entrance to check your tickets clearly has some drawbacks even if it reduces the number of staff they need :pfft:

The ticket takers are usually by the food foyer so once your through you should be sorted...its easier at night. We got away with it loads of times when I was in the UK. Piss easy. 6.20 GBP a ticket, its gone up as well, so f*ck them, I'm getting my moneys worth.

I dont care what the cinemas costs are, $17 a ticket is a rip off dont you think? If the film companies can afford to pay their actors millions they could at least give us cinema goers free drug laced lollies for when Alice in Wonderland comes out, that would be sweet. (No pun intended.)

Haha I KNOW!!! I was so excited about AIW being really dark and trippy but I think Tim Burton actually made it with the younger audience in mind aswell. Reading the book is trippy as f*ck, the movie trailers don't look dark and trippy enough for my taste.

The Cat and the beast at 0:57 is too cartoony :(

Yeh and I'm really pissed off burton has used Depp AGAIN. Come on Tim sort it out. Depp plays the Mad Hatter who doesnt appear in the book much, yet he seems to be the main attraction for the movie. Using Depp as audience bait, bit shit really. The story is about Alice for fucks sake. No doubt the spotlight will be on Jonny Depp. I didnt like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory either, the 70s original kicks its arse and will always be the best.

I had an alice in wonderland book as a kid at it was very dark and creepy. I was fasinated by it, but it made me feel really weird.
