MLM companies, yes I know what you mean about these type of companies, promise the earth deliver little. The reason I joined Mannatech was the science not only theres but universities around the world are riding the back of some of our products.

The main reason I joined was a friend has a friend who is an FBI agent and he researched the company ad told Bill to sign up then he would sign up below. Im sure an FBI agent knows more than the average person.

Anyway there is heaps of science in relation to the osolean if you watched the video you would know more. Also Mannatech did not create the osolean another well respected company did and gave Mannatech the rights to destibute the product.

Perhaps if you'd like to continue advertising your product, you could contact Pseudonym and pay for some advertising, that way you can help yourself and also help the site.

That makes it a Win/Win situation since you say you do it because you like helping others.

This product works. I was 57 inch's around my waste, now 49.5. I weighed in a 168 kilos now 140. I have before and after photos. I have friends who would benefit from this product.

How it works. It is not a protein technology it is a peptide technology which specifically targets fat cells while promoting muscle growth. It also helps to suppress appetite. It's a good product. In terms of price, you can get the product free when you refer 6 people and they use the product. People spend thousands on gym memberships, trainers and supplements. The point is, are they getting results? I can justify this expense because of my own personal benefit.

I am not a network marketer but am seriously considering at least getting this product for free. Can you do that with any other supplement out there?

I was looking for reviews for osolean and ran into this forum. I'm a big fan of mannatech since 1998. I had a swollen knee that I couldn't put my weight on and was limping for days. My mom told me to take this powder Ambrotose, when I asked what it's for she told me it's for everything lol. Anyways, inflammation went down and i was able to walk the next day. I went back and asked her what it was I took and she gave me more sample packets. A few days later, as I tried to smoke a cigarette it tasted nasty to me and I threw it out. The stuff made me quit smoking, without the intention to do so. For someone who had been smoking a pack and a half of cigarettes a day for 3 years that was amazing to me! Four years later, while deployed in Iraq I picked up the habit again of smoking cigarettes...called my mom she sent me some packets, and like magic...quit smoking! I also use to wake up in the middle of the night craving sweets and just hungry...that stopped also. So yes, I'm a fan of mannatech products. I think I just may try the osolean I haven't heard any bad reviews yet.

Oh dear!   Have any one of you actually USED this product, apart from the gent who got shot down?  Never seen such a bunch of unprofessional people together...

Another new account here to "back up" the original product. Might want to take that website link out of your sig if you want to be a little less obvious. But then I guess you wouldn't get any traffic or advertising done, would you.

This week I had contact from a representative of Osolean, who was concerned that his product might be getting a bad name here. In the interests of a balanced discussion, I'm posting his side of the story...

Hi. We have just noticed that some of your members are confused about one of our products and how it works, and we would like to help them understand that.

Our product is "osolean". This product is not just a protein or another peptide.

Would you be open to allowing us to give you the scientific data that proves what this product does. We have many professional athletes using this product with incredible results and we think that somewhere along the line someone has been giving us a bad name.

We hope you will allow us to correct this.

Hopefully we will hear back from you
James Hannan

I replied:

Hi James,

By all means post your studies on the site. Our members are always interested in analysing scientific data, and I’m sure they’d be keen to discuss the proof you provide. I look forward to seeing it.

Regards

Andrew

Hi Andrew

Here is the link to both studies that were conducted on osolean. You can see both studies here:

Study 1: articleScripps2009_RMadella.pdf

Study 2: 36TONUTRAJ[1].pdf

We also hundreds of testimonies out of Australia and New Zealand, however we know you are more interested in studies and data.

There are not many companies that will go to this extent to actually verify what their product will do

I hope this helps

James

Hi James. Thanks for that. I’ll post them up, but I have a few questions which I know our members will ask if I don’t...

Aren’t both those articles about the same study?

Was a control group used in this study? Also, do you have any studies comparing Osolean to other brands?

Finally, what is your position with the company?

Regards,

Andrew

I haven't had a response to this yet, but will post it up if I do.

Was the same study....

The first one was a poster (mostly likely used at a university presentation for a research paper) and the other the journal article....

Both the poster and the journal states that future testing is required.... this study doesn't indicate that the product works but their is a possibility it does... I would think increasing protein consumption would increasing the calories expenditure of the body??? It may only be 10g but this is probably significant for someone only consuming <70g daily.

Study has far to may factors that would influence the results... not sure if its smart to post such results as it puts the companies knowledge into question, although they would have consulted someone to do the study.

I know! But they wanted it posted, so that's what I did. :)

OK, I just got a reply from James, answering my questions...

Hi Andrew

I am sorry about the delay in getting back to you, I have been playing catch up and I wanted to get you the correct information from our Scientists.

We have a  full lab setup,  one of the best in the industry lol and I wanted their response.

This is what I have for you:

So this gives you a great example and yes it is a control group:

Drs. Joy Frestedt and John Zenk (Minnesota Applied Research Center, Edina, MN), Michael Kuskowski (Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center, Minneapolis, MN), and Loren Ward and Eric Bastian (Glanbia Research and Development Center, Twin Falls, ID) conducted this 12-week study on healthy subjects on a diet that reduced caloric intake by 500 calories/day. They showed that subjects who consumed a flavored and sweetened drink mix that contained the same peptide blend in OsoLean® powder lost significantly more body fat and lost less lean muscle mass when compared with those consuming an isocaloric beverage.

Reference: Frestedt JL, Zenk JL, Kuskowski MA et al. (2008) A whey-protein supplement increases fat loss and spares lean muscle in obese subjects: a randomized human clinical study. Nutr Metab (Lond)  5(8):1-17.

Note: This article can also be accessed from PubMed.

Other than the two studies already conducted on Osolean, we have not conducted yet a comparative study with other brands. What I have are positive reports from current consumers about their experiences compared to other brands.

I do not see us conducting a comparative study because we don’t feel we need to as no one else gets these results or they would do their own study to prove it like we have.

My role is International Business Development. I train and develop our associates in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, USA, Canada, Germany & South Africa (Keeps me busy lol)

Happy to get you more info if you like, but not sure what more you need.

So there you go. Any other questions I should ask him?

I don't understand.  The study referenced has this background: "This study evaluated a specialized whey fraction (Prolibra™, high in leucine, bioactive peptides and milk calcium) for use as a dietary supplement to enhance weight loss."

Is the Osolean product licensed from the Irish developer and patent-holder?

But back to the original study conducted by employees (and external Asians for the statistics):

"Participants were given a tracking log in which

they were required to record their height and their daily
whey protein supplement intake, and at the end of each
week, record their estimated daily caloric intake, body
weight, and waist circumference. "

Subject-reported caloric intake estimation...
