They can be purchased from either – Starr Fitness Gym, Ford Rd, Napier

Or – Sparta Gym, 17 Carlyle Street, Napier

Thought I would give everyone an update...

Ticket sales are going well for both shows and we have a good amount of athletes registered so should be a really good show. Go to http://www.nabba.co.nz/regions/hawkesba ... _index.htm Hawke's bay regional page; new info will be up shortly. Not long to go!!!

Cheers

Grego

How do you know this grego? Are you running or assisting in running the Hawkes Bay Show?

All entries have to be in by today so as not to incur a late payment fee. Please use the attached entry form, I have an electronic Adobe pdf verison you can fill out and fax through to 06 8359584.

NABBA_ENTRY_FORM_2009.pdf

Please ensure you let us know of your intention of payment and remember if you need to pay for membership also. This is a yearly membership, so if you competed last year at Hawke's Bay, you will be covered.... just!

but that was only pre-judging shots and highlights earlier this week, we wanted the whole box and dice - KJ, had a squiz last night, very good!

Thanks, yeah, was an awesome turn out, Brilliant 40+ Mens physique class, and great crowd! A few controversial decisions; not sure if I should have won mixed pairs :pfft:

Plenty of positive feedback, and looking forward to having a larger venue next year.

Cheers

lol controversial decisions is right , the judges for nabba couldnt judge a piss up in a brewery , they cant decide if they are judging on condition or condition and symmetry , and as for the head judge bringing his lad down stan the man , and who by the way won the over all with nice shape but very little condition , well not good form for the winner to be consorting with the head judge hmm not very good form at all, Mind you the Nabba officials have always been dodgy , i remember a few years ago when jackie poole won the over all nabba figure champs and shouldnt have , mum was one of the officials . hmmmm i wonder . I think if people are looking for a fair federation to compete in bodybuilding - nabba nz federation aint the go . Oh and lets give the best performance award to somebody that performs a routine that would be best described as a pantomine performance , funny i guess and even a little amusing for the crowd but does it resemble a bodybuilding routine i think not . I for one will be supporting the IFBB federation , nabba nz is a joke as far as i can see .

I think if your serious about competing you would be better off doing IFBB

or competing in AUSSIE Nabba OR THE CCI Champs that are held in australia every year.

Feel better now you have that off your chest?
haha much better thanks . :pfft:

I was actually joking...... Myself and Colleen (mixed pairs partner) were the only one's doing mixed pairs; hence the joke about controversy - Lighten up!

Sounds like you lost a few times but felt you shouldn't have?

There will ALWAYS be that subjective side when you are being judged on what you look like, and you are blind if you tag one federation to that! An athlete does the best they can but there is often someone who is that much better for whatever reason.

I always say there is a reason, and often we are blind too it. I have been winning a few comps, all hard earned and beaten Andrew Murray at two events earlier this year. And I just thought I was getting leaner and harder, but I was the former not the latter, but I had set my sights on being so lean that I had forgotten about conditioning. I was too blind to see I had improved in one area but lost out in another.

At the last two events Andrew has beaten me and I looked at the “controversy” tag, but again, needed to look a little closer to home and realise, that it’s not anyone’s fault but mine. Andrew in has right is an awesome athlete and I enjoy competing against him.

Often one has to take a step back and look in the mirror.....

Did you compete at hawkes bay? if you have any issues with the judging just let me know ... I carnt change anything but might be able to point you in the right direction to get some feedback as to why the judges picked who they picked.

To be honest with ya mate i might as well talk to a brick wall as talk to the nabba officals . shame really cos there are some bloody good people in the sport but the three stooges at the top dont do the sport justice. And they know who i am talking about.

I couldnt agree with you more on the fact that people need to take a step back and look at the mirror , alot of times guys think they shouda won and there is no way they that they should have ,they get all pissed off when really they should accept the decision that was delt them .

Alternatively there are guys that win shows because they are the ones that that the officals are trying to push through , for whatever reason ie they could be organising an event and competing so the judges feel obligated to place them ahead of more deserving individuals , or perhaps one of the judges owns a supplement store and one of his sponsored athletes is competing at the show , or maybe just maybe you might have pissed the judges off by speaking your mind . I believe you made some remarks in regards nabba nz and the amg meeting they where supposed to have . You yourself may have upset the officals .Hmmm interesting , that one might have cost ya bro.hehehe. HEY it happens grego , still it must be a hollow victory when the guy ar gal looks up at there first place trophy and in there heart of hearts knows that they didnt really deserve it.If you think that politics doesnt exsist in the sport grego you are indeed nieve. And as for the comment THERE IS ALWAYS A REASON , you are indeed correct again , but it isnt always the right reason . Still i believe you are relatively new to the sport , my guess is your nievity wont last for ever.Train hard go for gold i wish all the best for any further comps. :pfft:

If this is all about Stan betting Aaron perhaps you need to take a real good look at the judging criteria or even do a judging coarse to learn a little more.

PS the massive tear in Aarons left bicep costs him a lot of points and that's no disrespect to him it is just what it is
