Skinny wrists and forearms

Progress

Recommended Posts

Ah...Ive been in this discussion before and agree with those that feel the wrist is a joint/bone and its growth is limited as little muscle grow around the area..Also, the forearm muscles are used in almost all exercises that require you to lift, grasp, push or pull.

would one of these help stimulate some growth/strength in the forearms?

just got one today n got blisters already. i reckon it might just show who the biggest wanker is. i'm winning in my flat \:D/

 Haha you wear it well sir. Like a badge of honor.

I think I just needed some of the suggestions in this thread to mix up my current arms thinking, and start hammering the hell out of em with different routines. Reckon it'll do it

The deadlifts do seem to pumpup the forearms quite a bit as the weights get heavier huh. Glad I've added these to my workouts finally, they seem beneficial to lots of muscle groups. I feel it in my traps quite a bit too which I'm happy about - they're slow to develop on me despite my shrugs.

Now for arms I'm doing something closer to this:

Concentrating on good form... all exercises done fairly slowly and smoothly as possible using full range of motion.

3 sets of 10 BB curls (32-37-42kg)

4 sets of 10 BB preacher curls (27kg)

4 sets of 10 DB hammer curls (15kgDBs)

5 sets of 10 BB reverse curls (27-32kg)

4 sets of 10 BB skullcrushers (27-32kg)

Naturally I'm wanting to increase these weights, so I'll see how I go with that.

Forearms, biceps and triceps are all pumped up after that lot

Jeez 31s on hammer curls... I'm a way off from them. What range of motion do you do with those? What are your other 2 exercises?

I tried 20kg db hammer curls for a bit, and got more pump from them, but my form with them wasn't perfect after first few reps, so I'm back down to the piddly 15s for the moment... I'll try 20s again soon, no point in pissing around with low weight for too long.

Do you think I should sacrifice some form initially to move up to higher weights sooner for that sort of exercise? Thoughts? I should point out that I'm happy doing 20kg DB regular curls, but hammers feel a bit weaker perhaps as I've only really just started doing them...

Hit in about 50, 4-inch nails per day. Use a long handled hammer, estwing 28oz. your forearms will get big-im a builder, did this all the time, now my fore-arms are as big as most peoples biceps. just careful for your wrists.

Yeah that'll do it huh! I've never really had manual labor jobs, mainly desk jobs, so thats a huge difference eh. Whenever I have done some DIY construction work and stuff, I've definitely felt the forearms getting thrashed from all that hammering and sawing etc. Not surprised that doing it day in day out has built yours up so much.
