Another Amateur Question!

Machine'd Head

Recommended Posts

I'm a very hard gainer and am about to try some weight training for the first time.

To start with I have chosen to use PVL Mutant Mass with NFS Kre-Alkalyn Creatine.

I also want to supplement the above products with a Testosterone Stimulator.

Has anybody here had any good results from any of the following:

*isatori Isatest

*LA Muscle ZMAX

*LA Muscle NORATEEN Heavyweight II or LA Muscle NORATEEN II

Or maybe another alternative that I didn't mention?

Thanks again for any help.

Thanks for the advice.

I read that with some/all "additives" it's better to get your body used to doing some weights before taking anything, so that's what i'm doing.

I'm only training lightly at the moment till I figure out what exercises work best for me...then i'll figure out a proper routine and start taking that stuff.

Apparently mutant mass is shit(all hype). Read a few reviews. When you start out I'd just go with protein an creatine.

He's a hard gainer .... ice cream and choclate cake in his protein shakes could be on the menu - mutant mass would then fit the agenda. :D

Loungeact : is your body fat very low? Can you see sixpack etc? weight height age?

Why have you chosen creatine?

My body fat is very low.

I seem to have a monster metabolism, but I think at this age (30) it's starting to slow down a bit. I didn't do any exercise for the last couple of years and lived off take aways/junk food. Now i'm starting to get a bit of extra flesh around the stomach area, can only see a Four Pack now! There's no (significant) fat anywhere else though.

I'm now in a better living situation where I can eat properly/regularly. No more take aways either!

I'm about 5' 11" - 6' and weigh about 66kg.

I plan to go get proper stats (B.F%, height, weight) so I can monitor my progress. I don't know where to get that done though. Would most gyms have a B.F% machine?

I presumed that I should be taking creatine as it seems to be one of the more often mentioned supplements.

I wanted to have all bases covered as far as supplements go.

Yeah, i've read extensively all the reviews I could find on it (Mutant Mass) and they all seem to be conflicting. Overall I got the impression that it was at least "adequate" as a protein supplement.

Best thing to do would be to focus your training around the big lifts - benching, rowing, deadlifting, squatting and pullups.

Just eat. If you find it hard to get food down eat foods that have most bang for your buck. Make big protein drinks and add shit to them like cream, coconut cream, peanut butter.

Nuts are good to get the calories up but get good fats in.

how can you call yourself a hardgainer when you havnt even been lifting weights and have been eating shit food ??

Somewhere in the above post I stated 'for the last two years...' etc. Notice that?

Before that I had a couple of goes at gaining weight using supplements like Vital Strength Weight Gainer and L.A Muscle Norateen Heavyweight II. I was on a healthy diet and made sure I was well rested inbetween training. Although I had a gain in strength I gained no weight.

I lost interest quickly in my previous attempts, but this time I want to stick with it.

Thanks for the advice, Sportsgirl.

Yeah, i'll try to focus more on the heavier work.

And trust me, I have no problem at all eating! I'm a bit of a pig really. At least now i'm getting back to the good foods though.

I've heard nuts are a good food too. I regularly eat raw nuts. Mmm...

Don't worry about the creatine at the moment - save your money. Your goal is weight gain not strength gain. Because you are underweight focus on calories up - as sports girl has stated, pimp your protein shakes and eat good quantities of clean carbs in the meals in between. Don't worry about putting on a bit of body fat, as you are gaining muscle at the same time. You will lose the body fat fast enough when you are ready.

Just remember to keep saturated fats low and watch your sugar intake - clean carbs remember
