so is teh herb mon and it makes ya sleep larke a baby

I use to spend $60 a week on weed, solely for its sleep inducing effects, losses its effectiveness after a while, plus too damn expensive.

Has anyone actually ordered and recieved melatonin or any other prescription medication from overseas,Im getting sick of this zopiclone shit, puts me to sleep but there's a big difference between drug induced sleep and falling to sleep naturally. The only way I can explain it is like drinking coke when your thirsty instead of water, coke may quench your thirst but your body is crying out for water.

I'm about to order it, online though. I'd guess it would get through, or you could just hit up your doc. I don't see any reason why you couldn't get it from there. Though I'm going to try getting it online first. It's meant to be a great product from what I've read, it makes you wonder why the doctors will give you a million drugs prior to melatonin, it's probably because they don't get some kind of commission like they would with the other drugs.

Asked a few doctors, bastards wouldn't even consider it.

At US$2 for 100 tabs,plus shipping,I got nothing to lose I guess.

whats the deal with melatonin can you overdose or something?

shadowfax you ever tried herbal tea like st john and chamomile, they have nothing on drugs but they help you relax and stop you thinking so much when your trying to sleep.

don't know if this helps; looked into melatonin after reading about it in a muscular development(from the states)

seems it can be assimilated through seratonin which can reportedly be easily supplemented by taking 5-HTP (5 hydroxytryptophan) which is said to stimulate HGH production.

if you are looking at for the HGH increase maybe look into Mucuna Pruriens, botanical source of L-dopa, which acts as a dopamine precursor. this can stimulate GHRH (growth hormone releasing hormone) to increase HGH release. also inhibits hypothalamic somatostatin secretion leading to greater release of GH by the pituary gland.

also known as velvet bean or cowitch.

article i read suggested a dosage of 200mg (standardised to 15% L-dopa) immediately before bed.

not sure of the avaliability in NZ.

i'll try and find the article??

hope this is withen the rules of the forum??

your sleeping problems, you always had them or just since you have been taking gear ?

Had it on and off since I was about 15,these last few years it's just gone from bad to worse. Can lie down for 6-8 hours without getting a minutes sleep.

I must say, even though I hate taking it,I'd be a zombie without the zopiclone

Yea mate was taking 5-HTP 50-500mgs plus B vitamins to aid absorbtion,it worked for only about a week,it definetly improves mood/wellbeing though. Also tried kava, valerian(shit gives me nightmares),homeopathic remedies, chammomile tea and few others, none of it works.

As for the Mucuna pruriens,I tried some few years back for its reported GH increasing properties,15%L-Dopa extract, and come to think of it,the stuff did make me feel very drowsy, might give it another blast. Here is the stuff I tried if your after some http://www.ethnobotanicals.co.nz/Mucuna.html

  • 4 months later...

Just updating this.I've been on melatonin for over 1 month now,I have found it to be the best supplement/medication for sleep I have tried.

First night I tried 1 3mg pill fell to sleep in about 1 hour, when I woke up I felt fully rested, the best nights sleep I've had in ages. The next night I tried 3mg once again,2 hours later still not asleep so I took another 3mg,half an hour later I was asleep. The third night I tried 6mg at once,2 hours later I felt a bit drowsy but no where near enough to put me to sleep,so I just went all out and took an additional 9mg,half an hour later I was in a deep sleep, woke up with a clear mind and no drowziness.

Now I take 15mg every night and Im always asleep within 1-2 hours.

I have found melatonin to have zero side effects.

Those with some knowledge on melatonin might think 15mg is far to much, for me this is the magic number, and like I said,I have had no side effects whatsoever.Of course everbody is different, and if anybody is going to try melatonin I would suggest you find the dosage that suits you best.

All the health food store sleep aids are a joke, medications work but their side effects were to much for me.

Im just sharing my experience because even though insomnia is not life threatening(I think),it can definetly effect your life in a big way.

I got my melatonin from http://www.nutraplanet.com(very cheap),dont bother going to the doctors because even though it is a prescription only medication in NZ,the 6 doctors I saw all swore I could buy it at the health food store, and didn't even consider prescribing it(mother fuckers)
