I came across this one some time ago. Its an interesting take on things & I quite like his side tricep pose which, if you're like me, have difficulty doing the standard linked hands, because of shoulder injuries. The Black Woman comentator is taking him home to bed after the show

does anyone now a site that has good pics of the mandatory poses?

been browsing but can't find good complete pics i.e. front biceps pose with legs cut off!!

any help appreciated

Hey GAzza, get some one who knows what they are doing to help you, good posing cant be learnt off pictures, and if you do every thing (training diet) 100% but only get your posing 80% right, then you will only be 80% on stage. Posing is that important!

MD is right there isnt a picture or vidio that can teach you how it feels to hold a pose corectly. geting advise from oficials and trainers who have been on stage for mutipal competitions will help you greatly.

also you each body id diferent and holding a pose incorectly for your body structure can make or break how you look under lights, exentuate your strengths and make your weekneses look like strengths.

yeh, cheers guys.

was just looking for some guidelines of what the basic form was and current look as it seems trends change a bit I.E. side chest seems to keep evolving.

been chatting to a PT at the gym who has helped competitors in the past he will offer assisstance. also have john gallivan at my gym who said he would give me a hand if i do decide to compete (he's a busy man and hard to tie down sometimes, but has a wealth of experience)

gping to borrow a digital camera and take some pics of mandatories and a few others that might be ok for a routine. plan is to post some on here for everyone to pic over :)

In New Zealand both NZFBB and NABBA are very similar with their enforcement of form during compulsory poses to keep in line with international standards. There are subtle difference that can only be shown to you by someone experienced in both organizations. Although the differences are not immediately noticeable to the inexperienced they are vital to know before you get on stage.

Just as a note in the NABBA mandatory poses you do side chest & side tricep from both sides and in the rear bicep & rear lat you have to swap what leg you use for calve/ham where as NZFBB you don't.

Also NABBA are having a crack down on competitors over twisting on the side symmetry pose.

If there are any people (guys & girls) in the Hawkes Bay area looking at competing and what some advise on posing we are holding posing practice once a week at Starr fitness gym @ 6:30(free entrance) just contact me if you want anymore info (day changes from week to week)
