New Area Rep for NABBA in Christchurch

That is they key in a country of only 4 million people. We are not big enough for both. Just have to sort out the drug testing criteria which is a joke considering that most IFBB Pros are geared up to the eyeballs. Its not like we are asking or getting any financial support from local goverment.

i agree that being a small contry poses problems but i belive there is definatly room for both federations, being an oficial for one federation to me dosenot mean i cant suport the other ( sure MD and i arnt going to go door knocking selling tickets to each others shows) but i certianly wont be slaging off any aspect of his work or orgainisation ither, i think having the options available for competitors and the public is important.

Well the lack of competitors & public at your show in Sept suggests to me that there is not room for both. If you are implying that it gives competitors a chance to choose between being natty or geared then I would suggest that you are a little naive in what happens in both camps, & what may happen if there is a change in the administration & politics in NZFBB.

So far from reading this post, it's becoming apparent to me that if you truely want to get recognised in this sport, you won't have much luck in NABBA with only 6 or so countries supporting the federation.

So is it really going to matter how big you become in NABBA? As the rest of the world barely know's it's existence and will have no idea of your accomplishments..

Im not here to bag NABBA or the orgainisation, but to simply find out what is best for the athletes involved..

It is the goal and hope of NABBA international and the competitors that with time and support NABBA will all come under the same flag again.

This will never happen.

The old NABBA refuses to recognise Joe's new NABBA.

Old NABBA doesn't need Joe's NABBA International, they are going along nicely without him.

The best thing NZ can do is to ditch NABBA International and jump on board with the Old NABBA.

NABBA International titles are not recognised by anyone except the 3-4 countries that form this organisation.

The reality is that no one cares about NABBA International and it's competitors.

I can't see how this is helping NZ BBers.

We seem to be thrashing out the same topics in circles with no clear view of what could or will happen with the future of NABBA International in New Zealand.

Bottom line is the competitors in New Zealand have got to make the most of the situation and continue to support the organizations that are hosting quality competitions and hope for a brighter and more positive future for the sport

Nabba and NZFBB can exist together in New Zealand as they can with INBA. The problem is NABBA will always have this festering sore that is International Competition. It has only been brought up in the last few months as more people become aware of it.

There is no problem if you want to compete in local competitions. The fact is International competition is the ultimate challenge for some and if no-one says anything nothing will change. I cannot see anything changing as ego's are in the way.

Well done for stepping up Kingsley.

The future of local NABBA groups has been political for years and will continue to be so.

I hope you look at posting your thoughts and ideas in an open forum like this to generate discussion outside of the NABBA ranks. The Association, like it or not, plays an important role in fostering and promoting a positive public perception of bodybuilding and of bodybuilders. The public does not distinguish between competitors and enthusiasts.

And thanks for posting your contact details!
