Age?

While I'm putting off yet another essay I thought it would be interesting to get an idea of the ages of nzbb and for those of us that have been training for many years what age you felt your body responded best.

To start things off- I'm 20 and haven't been training for too long but am quite happy with how I gain (when I put the required effort in :pfft:)

I'm 23. I'm not sure when I started bodybuilding officially. After avoiding all things fitness-related, I bought my first home gym machine at 19, graduated to a real gym a year later. But I still wouldn't call that the "official" start. The local supplement retailer said "EAT!", but it took me a while to believe he wasn't just trying to sell more stuff... :D

I didn't realize you were all such youngsters.

My doctor says I look great for a 65 year old (it's a shame I am only 36 then)

I've been lifting since 1982. Made my best progress in my mid 20s.

Damn....maybe I need to set up my own forum - NZOBGBB

(NZ Old Bastard and Geriatric Body Builders)

I'm 23. Started training for my first figure comp in 2002, got bitten by the bug and have been lifting weights ever since then, a bit of and on for the last 18 months due to a rather serious rugby injury (bloody rugby) but back on the wagon again now. Best gains probably when I first started training and in the last 2-3 months

36 ,Just getting back into lifting again after a ten year layoff.

Currently living in London.

how are you finding it after 10 years? like starting from scratch again. THe longest away from lifting for me has been 2 years and I lost a lot of size in that time

I made a mistake in training with the same intensity as i did when i was in my early twenty's and ended up getting injured. So I have decided to take things a bit easier.I have allways loved lifting so it was good to get back into things.

I'm 33yrs old, started when I was 17(72kgs), mucked around til I was 23(93kgs) then applied myself for the next 7 years(93-132kgs), just got back into it this week after a 3 year lay off(86kgs). :pfft:

132kg? That's fairly heavy (and I assume huge) to say the least.

Back then I lived to train and was surrounded by great mates(dedicated gym freaks), it's only natural to follow the same path if you want to be the same, I honestly didn't know my full bodyweight til my friends finally convinced me to compete.

Powerlifting was my background before I swapped over to Bodybuilding.

I started training at 19 . weighed a 100kgs - a lotta fat.

about 8 months later I was 76 kgs. Mind you this was non serious training.

Then I decided to bulk.

In 4 months, i shot upto 92 - 94kgs.

Im 20.5 years old now, trying to diet down, loose the fat after the bulk.

I also have a disease called IFEELIMSMALL.

IFEELIMSMALL at 76KGS.

IFEELIMSMALL at 93kgs.

I heard the only way it can be cured is to get to 95kgs at 10% bf.

goes back to eating chicken and brown rice.
