Bikini - Routine - Posing

Hi there - I am doing my first ever comp in May - EEK!

I was wondering if anyone could tell me where and who to ask about bikini's - what, who and where???

Also - I have someone to assist with posing - but who can I ask about helping with routine? (I am based in Auckland)

Any advice would be appreciated big time!!

Ali Gascogine makes most NZ competitors bikinis (PM for her ph # if you want)

otherwise you can go offshore to bodybuildingbikinis.com etc (just google figure costumes for a number of internat sites) but its a risk u take with time, sizing, and damage in post etc

Posing

One of the best instructors is Lynnie Wright (Tony Ligaligas wife) she will do both posing and routine-takes about 5-8sessions for a routine, but if you select music she will make a routine to fit your peronality, and then posing instruction just is an addon to your time with her. Shes mad fun, and thats at the Environment gym (PM me for her # also-or head down to Environment gym)

I've never used Ali but heard great things about her. I've got a couple of my bikins from Jo Rodgers in Aussie (Style on Stage). Also my Mum has made a couple for me too. PM me if you want more info/photos

The overseas assumption is probably from the end of the web address more than anything.

bodybuildingbikinis.com is great! Glenda has been making my bikinis since my first comp. Compared to overseas the cost is alot cheaper and they are really helpful, if in doubt give them a call and talk though what you want!

What class and federation are you planing to compete in? Are you using a PT, or BB Coach? Or are you going it alone so far?

bodybuildingbikinis.com are efinatly the way to go. Glenda and trace have been making them for yr and yrs. they export them all around the world and more than one of their Bikinis have ended up on Pro stages. they also supply Jo Stewart with most over her bikinins and Guest posing outfits.

I recommend bodybuildingbikinis.com too. Very cheap, very very fast and well made. I got a bikini from Passionfruit designs in North America for my first comp and I actually preferred my bikini from bodybuildingbikinis.com! It fit much nicer.

I now have a sewing machine so if I need another bikini I am going to make it myself :pfft:

I had bodybuilding bikinis make mine. They're excellent and really helpful. As for posing, have you thought of contacting Jo Stewart or Mark Stewart?

I like the metallic or lycra the best. The only problem with the metallic is that it is very fragile and you may not be able to use it more than once or twice. My last one, I sent the material to her and got it made. I was only able to use it once... when I tried to gently hand wash it, it was ruined; all the colour started coming off

Velvet is nice, but it seems to be quite "thick".

Basically just pick whatever colour or pattern you like
