As Musclenzs said, a huge 100% improvement over last years show.

I attended the show and had a great time. Phil Musson was a HUGE improvement over last year, he looks great when he squeezes himself into the Athletic class (600grams to spare at weigh in).

Shane Elsey also looked great and was the obvious winner as soon as he walked on stage.

Stan Tautalanoa is a favourite of mine but wasn't as hard looking as he can be. Had a chat to him back stage and he said he was carrying a few extra Kg's but that he is doing about 8 shows this year and working his way into it. Fair enough :).

Guest posers looked great and it was a nice touch they posed for photo's with the crowd at the end for a $5 donation to Ronald McDonald House.

Overall well done Kingsley, some nice looking prizes as well, including MP3 players and my favourite, the two nakedart statues for best performance.

See you in september for SI Champs :D

Yeah, well done Kingsley; awesome first show under your belt running it. We were kept well informed out the back and the sportsmanship from the competitiors out the back was great, which often relects. If things aren't so organised out front then it tends to filter out back, but it seemed all our dehydrated persons were all happy. Kingsley set the tone for the night being an awesome MC. Great day and great helpers. Thanks a lot to everyone involved. Might make an appearence next year for a CHCH comp too! (coin pending!)

A few indeed! I go a bit crazy with the camera too. Took over 2000 pics at the Nationals last year and I had to restrain myself due to running out of battery for the flash at the finals :grin:

working fine on firefox for me :)

Changed my user agent to be Firefox 2.x and I can get past the first screen, but nothing loads.

IE6 seems to work though... :puke: :puke:

Hi there all (Phil Musson here) Thanx for all the support at the well run show on the weekend and thanx for all the kind words. I was back at the gym preparing for the next show which could be the Nelson Bays show being run in Blenheim October 3rd this year. Then on to the Nationals. :-)

I'll catch ya at the Nelson Bay's this year; Andrew Murray and I from Napier made a promise to Mark Anderson we'd make it to the show. Really looking forward to it. You gonna stay up in physique? Also, didn't get the chance to have a good chat, you were looking good man, and congrats for winning physique too! What an athlete. I was proud to be up there with you in Athletic. Awesome, I had such a rush! Catch ya soon.

Hi Grego,

You made me work hard for the win and it was great to stand next to such a competitor as yourself. With you and Andrew both at Nelson Bays I would be tempted to do Athletic....But I will strive to become a top physique competitor now. I have already won the overall Nelson Bays Athletic title and don't intentionally set out to win the same trophy twice unless it is to qualify. I know I am too small to be competitive in physique but I will not be going to the nationals to lose so I hope to make some serious improvements to my size and conditioning by then.

Awesome Phil!

Well, what ever you (or your body) decide, athletic or physique, be awesome to catch up. Mate you are not small, even by physique standards (CHCH classic physique title!), and your've got a bit of the year to smash it hard in the gym so you are well on your way to getting where you want to be. With your move back to physique stacking on muscle and the way you get lean, awesome combo! Catch you at Nelson!
