Hey, what are the divisions for this? I'm only 18 in April, and sI'm still looking to compete in teen divisions. Can anybody recommend competitions to me?

where do u live?

auckland nzfbb champs is a good first show held end of june

if you want to stick w nabba try nabba auck champs in may

however if you are looking at competeing in Nats and possibly for the title then you should consider the fact that you'll have to hold (relatively) your conditioning for around 4 months - if you could face re-dieting then you might want to consider a later option,

e.g CNIs (sept 26th) for nzfbb or wellington champs (oct 10th) for nabba

:D

The Christchurch Classic is being run in conjuction with the International Asia Pacific so it would be a perfect opportunity for you to rub shoulders with some very good competitors. You can check out the divisions on the NABBA website and see what best suits you

Thanks for that advice. Also, is the competition particularly fierce in teen divisions? I've seen an article in muscle and fitness where the teen champion had very little definition.

I live in Auckland, but I often make trips to Christchurch because of my girlfriends family there, so it wouldn't be inconveniant.

Well, given this show is only 6 weeks away, I would have expected to have seen some publicity about it by now. I am not aware of anybody preping for it at my gym. Perhaps the new NABBA area rep, Kingsley Hannah could give us an update. Hope it is all coming together to be a great show.

I Know of a couple of competitors.one of my training partners and his partner are competeing. Shane Elsey is up on stage again, this guy has the goods when he gets it all together, it would be great to see him follow through to something bigger after this show.

Without intending to downplay the event (I think it's awesome that we're staging an international event), I'm not sure if many competitors are giving it the kudos or attention that the name suggests it should be given. A lot of people that I've spoken to, who received invites, are not intending to compete. They're choosing instead to concentrate on the Auckland Champs or the Nationals later in the year. It's a shame but perhaps this international comp is still at it's infancy stage and doesn't have the history to attract top caliber international competitors?

Ha Ha they have kept that pretty quiet. Shane has got a top physique so hope he can pull it out on the day. If there's Intl Competitors coming, I would be getting that info out to generate a bit of enthusiasm. Dont want to leave this to the last week as in the past.
