Surviving Summer

Recommended Posts

Being a male bodybuilder over 100kg and with a fast metabolism I suffer in summer. I suffer all day and find it hard to keep eating enough during the summer months. At work people around me are wearing long sleeved shirts and are quite comfortable with the temperature at 28 degrees.I have my own office and keep the door shut and air-conditioning on 18 degrees.

I eat lunch in my car with the air conditioning on full and the engine running. Sometimes I will take a nap with the engine running and aircon on. Have had people knock on my car window to see if I was ok.

It is a relief when April arrives and I can put some weight on. Am I alone with this problem and if not how do people keep their appetite going.

I feel ya bro. I can imagine what that must be like. A right mission!

But hey maybe you could try a variety of cold foods, ie. potato salad, pasta salad, caesar salad..

I do eat cold rice and cold beans but I think it comes down to making the food more interesting rather than eating the same old stuff. The problem is my appetite increases when it's cold and that's when I start dieting. It would be better to diet in the summer.

One thing I have done is make my protein shakes with frozen rasperries and vanilla protein powder which is quite refreshing.

Pasta salad sounds quite nice.

Hmm.. maybe just buying a good recipe book could be the next step then, yeah?

I feel your pain!!

I must say i just keep pumping myself with powerade or the alike, its hard at work to strip off and cool down but making sure you keep your fluids and electrolites up definalty helps how you feel by the end of the day.

Can't you eat in your office if aircon is at 18 degrees?

Am I alone with this problem and if not how do people keep their appetite going.
