What protein powder is everyone using?

what protein powder is your favourite, and what flavour?

do you get it due to cost or is a balance between cost and quality?

i have been using balance wpi unflavoured for sometime now, looking for something new

theres some people that get the mass gain ones which have heaps of carbs and then some that get wpi with near 0 carbs

whats your reasons?

When cutting I was using Dymatize Elite, no carbs, great value.

Now Im bulking I have been using BSN Truemass, its awesume stuff and tastes great but its really un-economical ($125 for less than a weeks worth) so Im trying the new Dymatize HI-PROTEIN Mega Gainer, along with Dymatize Elite 12 hour for night time shakes.

Ill take all the clean carbs you can throw at me thankyou \:D/

I get it for a number of reasons.

1. Cheap ($86 for 2.25kg delivered)

2. Good amount of Protein (81g per 100g)

3. Mixes well

4. I have a passion for vanilla, and I reckon this one tastes great.

As much as I like this stuff, I've got friends who hate it...so each to their own I guess

eat me unflavoured whey protein isolate. i can't eat whey protein concentrates. its cheaper than balance unflavoured isolate and ice whey. $159 for 3kg.

Im currently using PVL Mutant Mass as a gainer and PVL Whey Maxx as a lean protein boost, these are the nicest tasting shakes and best mixing powders I have ever had, I have triple chocolate in both powders, I am just returning to bodybuilding after a long break...cough cough 6 years, and have always been a hard gainer with very lean muscles, never got over 70-72kgs, since January 1st of this year in just 6 weeks I have put on 10-12kgs from these supplements and a better thought out diet

4.5kgs of the Whey Maxx will set you back about $180 odd with about 50gms protein per serve, this usually lasts me about 3 weeks with around 4 serves a day

6.8kgs of the Mutant Mass is around $160, I'm currently taking a half serve 3 times a day and have yet to finish my first bag, I would estimate this bag would last about a month tops at this rate

I've noticed since taking the Mutant Mass my strength has gone up dramatically and recovery is alot quicker, possibly due to the added l-glutamine in it

These prices are from the Punch Supplements site who have been very helpfull to me, free delivery in NZ but living just a 5 minute drive from them helps too

Not ANOTHER protein powder post.. :shock:

Protein is protein. The manufacturers get their protein from fonterra, add some flavouring and call it something special.

Whey Isolate, Whey Concentrate, Whey Milk Concentrate, Casein.. All comes from the milk factory..

Ion exchange, for example is the process whey goes through at the factory, not a process that is individual to any manufacturer.

Please kids, all these protein posts when all it is, is a different spin on flavouring/protein blends and how much Carbs/sugar is added to the bucket is all it boils down to.

Homework for tonight, something that will benefit you past PROTEIN. Ie, Creatine, or L-Glutamine. :pfft: :pfft:

I just tried whey cooler, lemon/lime.

I didn't realise before I bought it that it requires mixing with 600mls of water and sipping over time.

It's gross and mixes poorly. Makes me want to spew.

none whatsover I'm gaining just as fast as when i was on two shakes a day, i just find i feel like i have more of an appetite for real food now, i probably drink more milk now that i've stopped have the powder. budget-wise its much better being off the powder. i am getting less protein but to be honest its pretty easy to get my required protein intake, the excess just made me crap more which is counter-productive to gaining lol.
