Roasted Chicken

Hi people!

Have been trying to find a convenient (and cheapish) source of chicken for my evening (dinner) meal.

I have been using Chop Chop chicken. I was wondering if it would be worthwhile buying a roasted chicken, stripping the skin off and putting the meat into containers. I think this would supply about 3 evening meals of meat.

Has anyone does this before?

Cheers!

Yep, it may be convenient but it has definite drawbacks...

Ever considered simply buying some frozen chickens, roasting them in an oven bag once you've skinned them, and then keeping the meat in the fridge... just jam it in the oven for two hours while you're watching th tv or the 'net. I get a couple of days worth of meat from an average #14, and you get much more control over what you're eating.

yeah! i like to get at least a good size 20 though - you seem to get a LOT more meat off them, and when you buy the frozen chickens they're often on special and can have up to $5 off.. that's when you stock up

Chop Chop is really a convienience food. Grab some chicken breast on special from the Mad Butcher. You can get about 5 in a George which is 5 meals. As its cooked you can keep it in the fridge for a couple days. Nice and easy and you don't have it cooking in fat.

I eat a roast chicken from New World over two days. Which is four meals.

Woolworths has two roast chickens for $10 this week.

Woolworths now has got 2 roast chickens for 20$: was too much and we gave the rest for the dog who also is on a protein diet.
