Auckland Uni Power Lifting meet

Hey guys today from 12 - 4 pm at Auckland Uni Gym a powerlifting competition was held for members.

I had classes so missed the squat and Bench, but managed to watch the Deadlift section, my favourite

Turnout wasnt that great, lifters off all sizes and experiences.

Newbies pulling 1oos and experienced fellas pulling 200s.

Highlight was a uni record break of 265kg on the dead.

I will post up the exact results when I can get them - probably in the next gym news letter.

A lot of you who follow my journal might have realized by this point Im quite impulsive, so Ive decided next year, i.e. August 2006, I shall compete in the meet. Well I want to compete only for deadlifting and maybe squatting, definitely not bench pressing.

Reasoning being Im on 120kg DL now, the weakest competitior had a 140kg lift. Surely over the next year I can do better than that !

More news on results to follow at some point.

Masters Women 50-59. (90+ class)

Squat = 205 kg.

Bench = 107 kg.

Deadlift = 205 kg.

Total = 507.5 kg.

All were set by J Johnson.

Pretty damn impressive for someone's gran :shock: I could kick her ass with the right forklift but without it I would be in trouble.:grin:
