Have bought from that shop in the past for emergencies. Still can't figure out (without deep and meaningful thinking) why such a basic commodity has to be so expensive.

Make it a loss leader and do the "Michael Hill" upsell to get sales on the better profit products and form a relationship with the customer to get future sales.

Whey protein concentrate is not a basic commodity. Milk and Bread are examples of a basic commodity.

You'd go out of business pretty quick running protein as a loss leader. How do you expect to form a relationship if all the customers are after is the lowest price? As soon as the retailer puts the price up or someone else does it cheaper the customer is off looking somewhere else.

This is quite true!

But then I would do the same....I guess.

i thought the golds has quite a few more goodies in it that the 'eatme' stuff (ie BCAA's ,glutimine etc)??

Hey, i was wondering how to become a member of the NABBA member? (so i get more discount from the EAT ME website :) )

Just thought I'd add my 2c.

I usually go for Cytosport Complete Whey as it's cheap and also high %protein per gram (the scoops are 22g (18g protein) but if you do the math, it equates to 24.5g protein per 30g)

HOWEVER, I do like the thought of consuming NZ made whey and tonight found a shop selling Red-8 Whey in 4Kg bags for $145, slightly less protein per gram than Eatme/Cyto, but a good alternative to Eatme's 4Kg special if you're like me and don't like Strawberry! :grin:

I have pure NZ made instantised WPI for sale if anyone is keen. $35/kg for unflavoured. Manufactured by cross flow mirco filtration and ultrafiltration (not ion exchange). over 91% protein and mixes real easy. heaps of BCAA's too, ~7.8g per 30g serve. PM me if interested :)
