Why bring up such crap about a profession that is well respected and that we cant do without. Go on a cop bagging forum if you want to talk such shit!! iv got a lot of mates that are cops and D's and my best mate or 31yrs is waiting for his call up. what because a few get thrown in the media for possibly doing wrong (which they should pay for) the other 1000s of cops out there doing a great job have to listen crap like this. you go tell some mother that there 17yr old daughter has been killed in a car accident, or help find a baby that has been thrown out of there car seat in an accident! yeh have to be a real cock to do that!!! there are real cocks in every career, but i beleve Darwinstef was after some advice on knee injury, not some idiots opinion on his career choice!

^ What BigMD says. I've spent a couple of Christmasses and New Year's Eves listening to police radio. Dad's had too much to drink and is now bashing the shit out of Mum in front of little Johnny. Anyone who spends their Christmas sorting out some dysfunctional family they don't even know - well, they must have a pretty strong love for the community.

Anyway, hope you heal soon Darwinstef. On that note, I wonder if we should create a "sick bay" forum for these sorts of questions. Yay/Nay?

Hahaha..yeah I knew yours was a joke 2guns :).

Update: It appears I have a grade 3 mcl ligament rupture, in other words its not there anymore.....hmmm...bugger again.

They reckon 10-12 weeks of rehab to sort it, still at least it will still let me do some shows at the end of the year so not all doom and gloom :D

I now have a super spunky leg brace to wear.

You can create a sick bay forum after you've sub-categorized the training journals, remember, PSE?

What would your sub categories be?

Re to soundsgood also,

It was just a suggestion I made a while ago, sub-category's along the lines of

Power lifting

Weightlifting

General fitness

Body-building

Weight loss

Youch! A grade III injury is a complete tear of the MCL. Patients have significant pain and swelling, and often have difficulty bending the knee. Instability, or giving out, is a common finding with grade III MCL tears. A knee brace or a knee immobilizer is usually needed for comfort, and healing may take 6 weeks or longer.

Make sure you rest it 'properly' or you will find later that the knee feels unstable, as though it may 'give out' or buckle.

It's a common type of injury in rugby and snowboarding - you're out of season!

I hear you :). Strange though, I have no real pain, no swelling and can bend my knee fine. I do have a lot of stability problems and a very weak feeling on the inside of the knee. Maybe its not as bad as the doc thinks :pfft:

Good luck catergorising them though. Most journals are atleast 2 of the above.

Just because something can fit into more than one doesn't mean it belongs in them, that's up to the author.

You would have a main focus in your training, whether or not it contains elements of the others is irrelevant.

hey darwinstef hows the knee now? interested to hear rehab progress!

Hey Kingsley,

I think it is going well.....plenty of strength in certain planes, just a tad unstable when I lunge etc, but not to bad. Back to doing leg day at gym but still slowly building weight up. I am due to see a ortho surgeon soon for a final analysis so that will be good.

Planning to do your show in Sept as my first show for the year (touch wood) :pfft:
