I am considering doing the WNBF competition but might hold off for the NZ debut in Sept/Oct, gives me a chance to put on some much needed size - or try to anyway :D

But very very cool to see the testing, even more interesting to see how that effects the attendance.

ANB Asia Pacific International

http://www.anbasiapacific.com/

Compete to appear on the front cover of 'Australian Natural Bodz' magazine, and the comp includes the title of 'Miss Asia Pacific International Sports Model'. All sports model girls will also be in the running to feature in the first ever Australian Natural Bodz calendar - 'Miss International Sports Model 2010' that will be released across Australia.

Sports model calendar girls ... drool ... :D

If you don't like the so called drug testing they say they are going to do there is the NABBA/WWF Southern Hemisphere Champioships at the Southport RSL Club on the 31st May 2009 contact is Mark at http://www.industryhealthclub.com.au

Now that the NZ Elite and the Pro comp are confirmed off at this stage and if there is any bodybuilders that were looking at doing it you can look at going over to AUS and doing the NPC/IFBB on Saturday 14th March 2009 its, are amateur comp and you also get to watch the Australina Pro Grand Prix IX comp This show is in Melbourne at the Dallas Brooks Centre

The best air line to go over on is Pacific Blue as they are the cheapest.

LOL..............You are right on the money HOG, the "so called testing" is a pretty accurate statement mate.

The WNBF drug testing in Australia has already been proved to be bogus.

The testing over here is a joke, hopefully you guys in NZ have got your act together because WNBF is considered to be a sad and sorry joke over here in Australia.

Don't waste your hard earned money supporting the WNBF Aussie shows, they are all dodgy.

Mark Ryan's Southern Hemisphere show is one of Australia's best comps and unlike Danny who runs the WNBF over here, Mark is a thorough gentleman who runs great shows and is one of our most popular promoters.

There is the WFF divisions for those nattys who feel they are not up to the NABBA standard.

Trust me, the testing will be just as good at NABBA/WFF as it is in WNBF over here - there isn't any.

Guys, just to clarify.

Is your opinion of the testing based on those caught who shouldn't have been or or those who should have been but weren't. From what I have seen of the sport to date and especially in New Zealand even the threat of testing is better than nothing.

Maybe I am reading more into this than I should, but what is your feeling on the lack of interest in this post?

It's based on both those caught and those not caught over here in Australia.

I'm not sure what the WNBF in NZ or in New York do, but here in Australia the WNBF is in a mess.

Their claims of testing every athlete are false and their drug testing itself is farcical to say the least.

I don't agree on your comment about a threat is better than no testing at all.

This is terribly unfair to the competitors who believe that they will receive a legitimate drug test.

Lying to them/threatening them with a drug test just to get them to compete is a bit rough if you ask me.

The WNBF shows here in Aust are poorly attend, poorly run and have little or no competitors.

Most of the competitors either double-up or triple-up just to make the numbers look good.

The lack of interest in this thread is a good thing, hopefully it means no one from NZ will get sucked-in and waste their time and money coming to Australia to compete in a second rate show.

I appreciate your honest response.

I agree with you in regards to using the threat of a drug test as exactly that "a threat", but I personally prefer it than having nothing. I am new to the sport, competed for the first time last year. As a natural competitor its safe to say here in NZ its a free for all, I wouldn't be surprised if members of the judging panels weren't on something at sometime.

I'm certainly not against competitors taking drugs, just be good to have a competition where the level playing field is indeed that. I love the sport and I love the people, if someone wants to trade their balls for biceps then thats their choice

And for the record, I am still keen to see what happends with WNBF here is NZ.

No worries mate, I am well known for my brutal honesty. :D

Best of luck with what ever you decide to do, it's great to see another new competitor taking up the sport.

Hopefully Ra will run the NZ WNBF better than Danny has over here.

The Nabba/WFF Southern Hemisphere is on May 31st in Gold Coast. There were over 100 competitors last year and it is a qualifier for the Nabba Worlds in Slovakia.

The WFF part is the equivalent of our athletic grade for men and bodyshaping or sports class for women. There are weight limits for your height. They run the Nabba and WFF at the same show and there is no day and night show only one combined. You do your routine, symmetry and compulsories and then prizes are handed out . Then at if you win you do the overall for your category. You only need to tan up once and then relax and eat.

Here are what I would consider to be the best 3 non-tested amateur shows in Aust.

1. IFBB Elite.

Mike O'Mara runs this in WA.

Mike is a gun promoter and offers good prize money as well as a free trip to Rottnest Island on a 10 million yacht the day after the show!

It is on two weeks after the cancelled NZ Elite show, so why not hang back on that fishing trip and have a go.

Mike is an awesome host, you will be well looked after.

2. NABBA Southern Hemisphere.

Mark Ryan runs this show on the Gold Coast in QLD.

Mark is an excellent promoter and this show is a qualifier for the NABBA/WFF Worlds, (the real one, not the one you guys do).

It is on Sun 31st June.

3. The Country Classic Invitational.

I run this show in Bendigo which is only an hours drive from Tullamarine airport.

This is a stand alone show that offers great prizes such as Plasma TVs and other electrical goods.

The Men's Open class winner gets a Championship Belt ($1,000 cost) to take home as well as a gold medallion, the Plasma, home theatre system & DVD player.

The winner also gets a cover shot on my magazine, Hardcore Aussie Muscle, as well as a 7 page interview.

One of your boys won it last year, Alex Simays.

Alex & Leanne will tell you all about it if you know them.

Alex is featured on the current issue of HCAM.

None of these shows are tested, but Alex won my show & Komang Arwana won the Elite show last year and both are natural BBers.

No one cares over here who is natural or not, they all just want to compete against each other.

These three shows will give you the opportunity to compete against Australia's best.

I hope this is what you were after.

outlaw I will be over this year to do your comp and I think there will be others to. The way nzfbb and nabba are going you will find more kiwi's coming over to do comps in aus.

I look forward to seeing you in Bendigo mate.

I think Alex and Leanne are trying to get a team over here.

Are you going to be a part of that team?

There is also the INBA shows...

Brisbane is May 17th. Would be fabulous to see some Kiwi's in the comp!

http://www.inba.com.au/site_2006/content/view/40/62/

For those who want to be tested properly by WADA, then the INBA is the show to do.

Don't forget the INBA Natural Olympia is being held in QLD this year.

I think it is on Oct 17th, but don't hold me to that.

That kingi was the biggest for the day at 25kgs. We took 5 fish home around that size that day, ive eaten them all already ha ha.

I'm told a fish of that size will have a hook stuck in its back and get thrown over as live bait for a marlin or a shark next time we go out  . hanging out to see what size fish will eat a 25kg bait?

Now.......... whats the best way to enter this comp in july?

I've actually given you the wrong date mate, sorry about that.

The June show is actually in May, May 31st. (It's nearly in June!). (lol).

Contact Mark Ryan at Industry Gym

His email address is on one of the earlier posts.

Tell him Craig from Hardcore Aussie Muscle magazine said to contact you.

He will look after you mate.

He gets a few Kiwi's doing his show.
