If it's an isolate, I'm surprised you're having such trouble...

But I notice you say "when i jam water on it" - are you adding water to it, or it to water? I find most powders mix reasonably well if you stir them into water. Take a spoon, stir your water into a whirlpool, and slowly pour your protein into the vortex, while stirring continuously.

Whirlpools and vortexes, eh? Who knew making a shake could be so exciting?!

Ion exchange proteins never mix all that well - it's the nature of the type of protein it is. It will be instantised, but if you're adding water to it it will go lumpy. As pseudo said, add it to the water and you'll be alot better off. As in baking if you're trying to make a paste or dough you add water/milk to powder. If you're making a liquid you add the powder to the fluid.

Ah Balance by Nutralife, I have spoken with Nutralife of this many times, There Ion Exchange is claimed to be Insatized and yet it is one of the lumpiest ion exchanges i know, I even went to nutra life and showed them comparisons of other Ion exchange products !!, I have no doubt the quality of the whey is the best as I have seen there info and stats on the whey they use, but yet it mixes poorly, they were going to try and fix this problem but obviously they have not,if you want a real good insatised protein try Devine Protein, it mixes fantasicly with a teaspoon and is great tasteing I asure you, but do finish your Balance first as it is a good quality whey , just lumpy!!, I hate lumps to!!

Nah, unflavoured yuk,it comes in Creamy french vanillia,Silky smooth chocolate,Strawberry ice cream and Butterscotch toffe royale all natural flavours, unfortinatly 98%(just a guess) of people want flavours hence your choice of unflavoured proteins is rather limited, its economics! If it is unflavoured whey you want your balance is very good, just have to get used to the lumbs!!, I prefer to be able to mix mine with a teaspoon with minium water, so I can gulp it or poor it over oats , every body to there own though!!

so even though its lumpy, no difference to the protein quality? (end of the day, this is all i give a shit about haha), like, theres nothing wrong with it because it turns to taffy when water touches it etc, flex got n e resources as to why it does that?
