Maltodextrin & Dextrose

I was thinking about using it with Creatine, Glutamine & BCAA's as a PWO shake.

I'm just curious what it's priced like as it seems it is widely used, perhaps not in NZ though.

At the moment I'm using Musashi Recovery which is working well but quite expensive.

Always looking for minor refinements to make.

Let us know how you find it...

Personally, I just use glucose and a whey isolate after my workouts, and I'm pretty happy with that. I think CJ said somewhere the time on either side of the workout was the most important time in terms of nutrition, and I'd have to agree.

Increasing my post-workout protein serve after I discovered it was half the size I thought it was  has made more difference than any other dietary change I've made.

Dextrose is the same thing as glucose. As EU said, you can get it in the brewing/baking section at most supermarkets (Pak and Save 400g for about $2.70). It is cheaper in bigger quantities from a home brewing supplier if you can find one.

I am still trying to track down Maltodextrin, so at the moment in addition to the glucose, I use bananas and oats as carb sources in my PWO shakes.

Does anyone know where Maltodextrin & Dextrose is sold? I'm wanting to try it in my PWO nutrition.

Thanks.

You can also get small 400g tubs of dextrose from new world. they cost $4 a tub, if you use ~100g post workout (max) i guess it only costs $1 per serving.
