You know how he has such fantastic genes to have such freaky legs

But they probably came at the expense of his intelligence

But if you wanna go down that path, I remember seeing a documentary on Discovery about Gene doping or similar. Whereby they where creating super rats. Only a matter or time before they start producing super-humans (if they already havent started).

Can I ask how old you are? Is a pro card definately out of reach for you now?

Not as old as I make out sometimes .... 34 :shifty: If you put your mind to anything you can achieve it. You just have to be prepared to pay the price. but right now I'm putting my family first (2 year old and 3 month old) worth more to me than a title or trophy. the card is less important to me now ... things change. My wife has put up with it 6 days per week for 12 years so I'm giving her right of way. (Not often you meet someone willing to let you live your dream - when you find one never let her go .... diamonds like that are very rare) But I do plan to get back into regular training Jan 09 and start prep for 2010 ...

Target 105kg stage ready in 2010.

I wasnt attacking you at all, the fact that you have won 3 "overall" titles clearly shows you have the right to apply for a pro card. You clearly know what it takes to win, I hope you do very well on the pro stage.

Doing it natural as you put, seems a bit odd considering you have already been banned a couple of times?? In my opinion once you have used gear you can never trutly be natural again, but thats just my opinion.

Ive seen footage of when you were at your biggest and best and think you looked great, wicked thick legs and back, ripped and complete. Applying for your pro card looking like you did then I would definitlty back you.

Are you saying that unless someone is competing, their opinions on bodybuilding are invalid? So people like Peter McGough, Lonny Tepper, Hany Rambod and Chad Nicholls would know nothing about bodybuilding because they don't compete?

And rather than labelling people as being in the tall poppy mould, try and look at it from a different angle that they are wanting to preserve the integrity of the national champs and not see a watered down version because all of our best competitors are away overseas. And yes, on paper there hasn't been all that many pro cards awarded in the last 10 years, but there has certainly been a shift in the last few years with a view to award a couple a year.

I guess what a pro bodybuilder looks like is a personal opinion, just like judging. Ive seen some awesome photos and video footage of all the current NZ pros , But in person my eyes look at BK and Moe then the rest just look small, great shape and have been on stage ripped.Bbut to me they just look small and still devoloping. Im not attacking anybody personally, just what my eyes see when viewing from the audience.

Abslutly no offence to BK he is a really top BBer but did he not place behind (and i could be wrong) Mark Rainbow in 2001 a much smaller bodybuilder? and in Hamilton in 1998 Bk was betten by Graham Cordwell who weighed 88kg.

THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK AT BK and his ability or the level of BBer he now is, but more to show that its not about being the biggest at these events.

Body building is a sport yes but also a lifestyle .. and a journey. I have always wanted to be pro but my genetics may never allow it. At 6'4 I'm a pretty solid bean pole but in order to be competitive at that level I'd have to be ripped on stage at 120kg+ (My biggest off season 132kg - biggest show 99kg) ....... But if I had the opportunity to even experience a small part of my dream --- I'd take it. Any one that didn't want me to have that experience after the amount of effort had gone in can chew their own tongue out. Life is full of people that tell you, you can't. I prefer to to be the you can type - may be if I applied myself there is a small possibility for me?

If grant has a pro card its not a question of his integrity or credibility - if there is a flaw in the selection process it's not his problem. Everyone should be able to live their dream and not be cut down for it.

Great Post!

Well....after reading 5 pages, no one really answered my question. "Did Grant receive his Procard". I couldnt help myself so I pm Grant.

Waiting with anticipation, Grant confirmed Pro status. The young mystro even sent me this link for all to see.

Good one grant! You deserve it because of your physique. really that's all that matters at the end of the day and I think the main point is that it's not anyone in NZ who deside (Thank god for that, there all fools) The IFBB want you in there ranks and that's all that matters so screw all the kiwi dick heads who don't think you deserve to apply and screw the judges who placed you behind a miniture anatomy chart because you're now above all that shit and will never have to worry about it again. A word of advise for the iron man get ripped!! get more ripped than you think is any where near nessersary and don't weigh yourself you are not big enough to do well in a pro show by being big (yet) but with your shape and proportion, if you come in shreaded then its game on! lots of GH, Thermo's, Anti-estrogen and don't eat! thats the ticket

Cant you show support for Grant without having to put down on of the other NZ bodybuilding greats?????Dan deserves a bit more respect than your comments, an opinion is one thing but a personal attack is another!
