Mixability of protein decreasing?

New Zealand Food Safety Authority (NZFSA) website said that “Any product lines identified as containing Chinese dairy product as a significant ingredient will be targeted for melamine testing.”

Importers or manufacturers were required to declare those product lines and submit samples for testing.

You posted a link to one batch of NZFSA melamine test results showing Chinese made whey protein packaged and sold by EAS (100% Whey Protein) and Aussie Bodies were tested and got the all clear. No mystery as far as EAS goes, they are known as a massive buyer of Chinese whey.

But the big shock for me was seeing Horleys (a New Zealand company) on the list. I’m amazed they also use Chinese whey protein powder.

That seems a bit odd. Horleys used to be owned by fonterra but I wouldn't have thought they'd have used chinese processed dairy. Since it is only their cheap arse meal replacement that needed testing I'd say it was the skim milk powder that was in it that caused the issues.

Interesting about the EAS 100% Whey - I'd heard rumours about it being chinese whey but never any hard facts. Learn something new everyday.
