Accu-Measure Calipers

Does anyone know where to buy an Accu-Measure Calipers? I am in Wellington, cheers.

Unsure of the brand but my girl just paid $600 for Calipers on special, after having used plastic fantastics for far too long. Much more accurate, downside is they hurt more :P

If you want good ones like that I can find out where she got them?

$600 was on special too! pretty sure they were closer to a grand!!!

Academy athletes and NZRFU lads only get the best!

I think the brand name was Harpinder Calipers???

To be fair the new calipers are a hell of a lot better to work with, much more accurate than the plastic fantastics I've been used to. Probably only an option for those needing them for work - not weekend warriors like me!!

Im sure you still have a similar margin of error with the $600 calipers to the $100 metal calipers :/

I havent used any cheapy metal ones, only the plastics (which gave a lot of variability on measurement). Probably doesn't matter too much as caliper measurements are a bit hit and miss anyway - the best you can do is try and reduce the error by semi standardising the conditions.

Any one up for a dexascanner (sp?) - much more accurate but worth a cool million from what I'm told!!!

I always tended to use the mirror above calipers when dieting, photos against a grid or video equally so. I found calipers were only useful to see trending down, rather than a %BF I wanted to acheive - someone at 7-8% may look leaner than another person at 4-5%

Having regular ISAK style anthropoimetry done has been really beneficial for our training as strongman competitors though, we can see what different phases of our training have done for our muscle mass vs BF.

Good luck in your search.

  • 2 months later...

prob a bit late but I got mine from bodylab. I got them off the net, http://www.bodylab.co.nz/accumeasure/accumeasure.html, but the postal address for body lab is box 14405 wellington, so they are local for you, only $35. They are pretty Pina though, you might be better off with frontmed.co.nz, (frontier medical) they have a better caliper, 'slim guide caliper'. cost $77
