headache from working out (legs)

Hey guys, Ok, I was at the gym the other week an I was doing leg press (high rep 15-30). Any way I was really pushing my self an had just failed on my 25reps (both legs). All of a sudden I had this headache, not really bad but a pain in the arse none the less. I also felt a little sic but that's normal for me when doing high rep legs. Over the next fews day I still had this mild headache that never 100% percent went away. Yesterday I did legs again an last night with the hot weather I could sure fell my head when I moved it. Even this morning when i shake me head I can still feel it mildly. I'm a little concerned at how this headache hasn't just despaired. I will visit the doc some time this week.

Note when I was doing the leg press it was very heavy for high rep an I could fell all then blood going to my head an eyes water from the pressure.

If any one can relate till this or has any ideas let me know, cheers guys.

Cheers guys, yea I'm 95kg at the mo an around 15% bf. I'm looking to get down to 8% for the summer. I'll have a read about correct breathing an vist the doc tomorrow. Yea somethings up as I've never been prone to headaches before. Yes my water intake is very high. Im sure it's some thing pressure related as was stronger the following week after doing legs again.

I actually get this from time to time also after high rep and high intensity leg days- and I consulted with Dr John Mayhew about it. Admittidly mine didn't last for days and that could be a concern, but otherwise he said that headaches after training are not uncommon and are a symptom of training very hard.

Most importantly he said they were not to be concerned about, as long as they go away.

Exercise induced headaches - I got my first doing heavy hacksquats, nothing out of the ordinary just all of a sudden felt like someone had smacked me across the back of the head with a baseball bat.

Went home and back to the hacksquat again the next week....same result. Went straight around to the doctors who sent me down to the hospital. They gave me some pills to take to prevent the headaches, used them for a bit and then havent used them again since.

Havnt really had a bad one in a while but I think in my case it may have been brought on with something different I was doing with my breathing in lifting a heavier weight....BUT yes as long as they go away should be fine!

Had the same issue - felt like a huge smack across the back of the head on leg press. Lasted a few weeks on different exercises so had it checked out.

Had all sorts of pokes, probes and scans, then had it checked by a nuerologist / specialist who said it was common enough on over exertion. Apparently some guys get it when they climax. Best thing to do is make sure you breath properly and take it easy on big weights for a while. It will go away.

I've had 2 bad experiences in my life from over doing it but am sure it's superficial and not bad, like other s have said it's not life-threatening.

I've seen stars after a leg press and then forgotten where my locker was so I reported my gear stolen, only to be shown where my locker really was...how embarrassing!

Another time I stood up from a deadlift and blood dripped out of my nose now that freaked out my mates :-| only once so probably some weakness + overdoing it...like Nate has said lifting heavy is overrated as far as bodybuilding goes.

Thanks guys, yea the doc just gave me a few pain killers which I don't think I'll take, not to be hard, but its just not that bad. He more or less said just give it another week an watch your breathing. I think I'll lighten up a little bit an go for max range/best form on the leg press for now, I mean its not like I'm trying to grow an the mo(high reps for cutting).
