Canned Tuna and ChopChop prices?

Hey all, I've started buying lots of tuna and some chopchop chicken, and just wondering if the price varies much between supermarkets?

Pak n Save Riccarton in Christchurch sometimes has Pams Tuna 185g for $1.80ish, with the Sealord range usually costing around $2.50ish I think...

This week I was needing to buy loads of them, and all the varieties and brands seemed to be $2.09.

Chopchop was $3.19.

Where do you lot usually buy them?

I get them from woolworths and you could add another 20 cents onto those prices and its about the same at the new world a bit further up the road

Ah yup cool, I did sort of guess that canned foods probably have a much closer price range across all the supermarket chains, than say fresh cuts of chicken/meat.

But I'm all ears if someone has them a lot cheaper. Being a non-perishable it might just be worth a mission to stock up bigtime

I buy the pams tuna in water which cost a $1.80 per can which is good price compare to the sealoards tuna at $2.00 a can. The only time that I buy sealoards tuna is when it is mega cheap at $1.25 per can.

I took 200cans of Salmon through the express isle, I got some nasty looks from customers, but I was prob the quickest in the line!

buying meat from the warehouse sounds a bit risky to me. I rather to buy meat from the supermarket just to be on the safe side.

I used to buy Pams all the time but ever since they changed the branding the quality has gone down hill. The Sealord stuff is nutritionally superior now.

I only buy chop chop in the 1kg foil packs (9$ each). Is a rip off if you buy it by the can. I try not to eat to much tuna these days as mercury dosent leave the body very well, it just continuosly gets higher over time.

What flavour does every1 get?

For me, i love smoked, but the high fat content can not be so good depending what you having with it...

But still... Smoked still tastes the best

we have countdown and newworld here. on shoping day i just go to both and buy in bulk if any are on special. If chops on special Ill load up on that or if its tuna fill up the cart with that. I dont like paying full price for chop chop I have piked up cheap as tuna from the wharehouse too :wink:

Pams Tuna :puke: :puke: this stuff is seriously the worst shit I have ever eaten. Tastes and smells bad and if you get the flavored stuff it is even worse.
