Cutting without scissors

Im fast approaching single figure BF % for the first time since high school (currently 11%) and have a few quick questions.

1. What is the deal with Sodium / Salt. I have read that it retains water. Do I have to eliminate this out of my diet as much as possible?

2. I have been subscribing to the 'no carbs after lunch' theory. However I have read in Muscle & Fitness that you should always have carbs in your post workout shake. As I workout in the late afternoon Im confused. I currently just have a shake with no carbs or sugar.

3. I drink 3 x double protein shakes a day. There are minimal sugar and carbs in them. Should I be scaling back the amount of shakes per day?

haha no not a good idea to run with sissors DS!

Just my 2 cents.....

1) Prior to having BF tested you will get a lower reading if you cut out sodium enriched foods 3-4 days prior, which I did, such as egg whites / fish mostly. Didn't have seasoning. You do this for contest prep too.

2) I would have 100gms Kumara or 1/2 cup oats prior to w/o for increased energy. I would do the Kumara esp on Leg day and extra carbs day after as you seem to be mad hungry then. Post w/o I just have a shake so interesting to hear what other people do

3) I don't think double shakes would be a problem. However, you will find you will get hungry soon getting under 10% BF so might be a good idea to replace shakes with solid foods soon, as you will do with final stage in contest prep. Harder to digest, better energy levels for training/cardio.

If you are loosing weight and getting leaner, no need to change your plan. You just need to tweak it if you're not getting results.
