My wife just got 10kg of chicken tenderloins (best part around the breast) for $30. We split it into 2.5kg bags and it takes me 2 - 2 1/2 days to get through each bag.

Deal doesn't come up often, nothing wrong with the meat either.

Ha, I lucked out on the weekend. Pak'n'Save Botany had boneless/skinless breasts for $12.99 p/kg.

It was quite a scene when I asked for 15kg from the woman behind the counter. She was there for 5 minutes loading 2.5kg bags. Then a queue of middle aged housewives behind me were getting all anxious about getting their two pieces for dinner. I almost emptied the tray.

Do you know how long it takes to trim, cook, wrap, freeze 15kg of Chicken breasts...a whole Sunday!

Pac'n'Save Albany seems to constantly have chicken on sale for $14/kg boneless/skinless

There is a butcher on the corner of richardson Road and Stoddard road (Auckland) who has $12 boneless/skinless all the time.

He even dices it up for you if you ask. worth a look.

I used to shop around but now go straight to cheapies chicken, their standard price is similiar or better than the other guys specials and when they have special it is real cheap, bought skinless breast chuncks for 9.99 p/kg on Sunday. Ask for free chopped onions and they will throw in a few for free.
