I read Jo's blog on her website and agree with her and Bigmd. Daniel is a fantastic athlete. It's such a shame that the Fed didn't contribute towards the costs for Dan and Peter to compete at the worlds. Athletes need incentives and the dream of competing overseas (especially as bodybuilding is such an expensive sport) is out of the question for many without any funding. If there's money in the bank, then it should be used to support athletes. That way we retain and attract high calibre (loyal) competitors. What else is the money used for if shows are making a profit?

Totally 100% agree that Daniel should be funded or partially funded. How can the federation award an athlete the title of "Mr NZ" and then turn their back. Daniel Hibbs is an outstanding example of a natural bodybuilder and a lovely guy to boot.

Surely the NZFBB showing some financial support to their title holder at the very least is backing their own decision? I am sure that when Daniel wins a title or placing at the World Event, the NZFBB will want it known which federation he competes within?

This is also about marketing the sport and educating people, come on NZFBB executives dont just put him on a poster, put him on a plane!

Hi all,

I agree with your comments regarding daniel. Such a shame that the federation is now occupied by its new president who has claimed at the New Zealand Nationals in Wellington that "he is a man of change" It looks like we are changing to the worse! The federation is making money from all of the shows and yet to choose not to support and send a great athlete like Daniel Hibbs who was the Overall NZ Nationals winner to represent our country in the sport is a total shame and clearly shows the true intentions and colour of the new president in charge. I was relieved to hear at the Nationals when watching the Nationals Finals as Daniel won the overall, that there is a man with true pride and love to the sport and NZ Bodbybuilders < Our top Ifbb pro Moe Elmoussawi , not only giving NZ the pride that has never been done by anyone from NZ before at the Olympia stage coming 9th place!! Yet , he out of his own will announced his full support financially in taking him to the worlds! He will also take the time out of his own schedule to join him ! yet he also mention that he is there for him as a friend to help him in anyway to achieve his dreams. I havent heard of anyone in the NZ federation committee from its begining that I know of , or not to mention a PRO BODYBUILDER do this out of their own pocket!!

My best wishes and respect to Daniel and Mo for giving us hope!! GO KICK SOME ASS BRO!!!

Does anyone else see the irony of Daniel Hibbs being sponsored by Extreme Nutrition when he doesnt even use supplements :banging:

Moe to the rescue again. This would not happen if he was the President. Just another reason to vote Moe

That is very nice of Moe to take the time out to help Daniel Hibbs and pay for Daniel Hibbs airfare over to the worlds :clap: :clap: :clap: .I find that strange myself Daniel Hibbs being sponsored xtreame nutrition considering that Danile Hibbs dose not use supplements.

After reading all the positive input on sending Daniel Hibbs to the world

Im more convinsed that am not the only one who can see the big picture.

and by the way Moe knows that Daniel do not use supplements,yet he personally sponsored Daniel as a friend who appreciate the hard work of a great athlete like Daniel and not as a sponsored xtreme nutrition athlete.

Daniel is the best NZ has to offer to represent us at the worlds this year and deserve all the support he can get ,not only from moe but from all of us kiwis. Good luck to Daniel you are a champion and my hat off to moe

you are a true leader and an icon. Me and all my friends who love bodybuilding would be proud to vote for you as the next president.

Daniel Hibbs has acheived what very few could only imagine, to reach a world class level in a sport while being totally true to himself, for that very reason he has the utmost respect from all his peers. He is a shinning light in body building and in my mind is already world champ.

Immaculate conditioning, symmetry, presentation and one of the best free posers in New Zealand. Also a fellow Rolleston lad to boot! although i'm not sure which gym he trains at? maybe Pro Fitness or Les Mills?
