What type of blender/mixer?

Hi everyone,

I am thinking of buying a 'Magic Bullet' blender/mixer off Trademe to help me with making some protein shakes/replacement meals.

Would you guys recommend the Magic Bullet or should I got for something else?

Yeah ive been meaning to get one of those from when they first came out......But havnt yet.I see they go quite cheap on trades to.Theres plenty you can do with them so it wouldnt be a bad investment really.

Been through 2 magic bullets, the rubber that holds the blades in place seems to grind itself apart after a while. I would say invest in a $20 stick mixer from briscoes, easy to clean and does the job.

I use a Breville Powermax blender, works fine, comparatively easy to clean...handles my frozen egg-white and protein shakes :-)

if you search this forum you will find another topic about magic bullets as well, i bought one about this time last year and it has recently broken, seems to be the case with all i have spoken to. but they are awsome while they work

I think this is the thread craig's talking about. Goes a bit off topic, but might help lol.

I have a magic bullet and have found it pretty good. Not sure if mine's a bum one, but over time it started leaking through the bottom

Laura's right about the rubber rings too - they break pretty easily.. but you can always buy bulk packs of the rings off TradeMe (10 for $5 or something like that) if you wanted to remedy that. My only moan on the bullet is that it doesn't hold enough liquid.

x2. I use this twice as much as I do the magic bullet for shakes/pancake mixes/smoothies etc :nod:

just pulled the bullet out and it works again!!!

it broke about 3months ago and is back from the dead!
