The melamine issue

Not at all. Honestly, the level of paranoia in the world today astounds me. Don't get me wrong, the 4 deaths in China is an absolute tragedy, and this particular episode reeks of scandulous goings on, but as usual once the media get hold of an issue it becomes a storm in a teacup - case in point the blame aimed at MacDonalds for the obesity epidemic. No-one is holding a gun to our heads forcing us to eat there everyday. Places like Maccas should be visited for occassional treats, not a solution for your everyday nutritional requirements. There is nothing wrong with Maccas every now and then, like anything, moderation is the key. this is basic common sense shit. The problem is we have become so reliant on the media for information that we can no longer think for ourselves, and common sense has gone out the window. As a society we need to harden up and take ownership for our decisions/actions instead of looking for someone/something to blame when shit hits the fan.

I would consider it a lot more serious than a storm in a tea cup.

In having said that, wouldn't worry about it contaminating N.Z. food products.

However here in Aus there was a warning that milk powder from similar batches were used by cadbury in their chocolate eclairs here...

Regarding China; pe and simple:

Every batch needs to be tested for dangerous elements.

obviously they werent or they were sold before the results were cleared.

It was covered up so as not to distract from the olympics.

There are over 1000 babies in hospital.

At that age liver/kidney failure is a very real option.

If any of you had a child on life support, trust me, you wouldn't consider it a storm in a tea cup. This is a result of gross neglect and corruption.
