I DON'T KNOW IF IT WILL BE THAT GREAT TO BE HONEST. THE NZFBB IS A SHAMBLES A THE MOMENT. YOUR BETTER OF GOING TO A NABBA SHOW, MORE TO SEE. THE WAIKATO CHAMPS IS ON THE 29, AND THE COUNTIES MANUKAU CHAMPS IS ON THE 13 OF NEXT MONTH. EVEN THOUGH IT WILL PROPERLY BE A SMALL SHOW NEXT WEEK, I WILL STILL GO OUT OF CURIOSITY.

WOULDN'T IT BE GOOD IF WE ONLY HAD ONE FEDERATION IN N.Z?

MAYBE A FEW LESS SHOWS, BUT IM SURE THEY WOULD BE PACKED. WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK, IF OUT OF THE BLUE A NEW FEDERATION STARTED, OFFERING SAY PRIZES AND MAYBE A CHANCE OF A PRO CARD AT THE NATIONALS, WOULD ANY OF YOU BE INTERESTED.

IT WOULD MAKE ME THINK ABOUT COMING OUT OF RETIREMENT.

I think a chance of prizes and a pro card would appeal to a lot of bbers. I have been contemplating getting more serious about my bbing and if prizes were on offer i would certainly be a lot more interested.

Did you know that the NZFBB and Nabba all have avenues to allow prize money to be awarded at their shows, it is that they choose not to that is the problem, Im not sure about NABBA(and maybe someone could tell us)but as far as i am told NABBA is not a federation and or incorperated society, thus meaning it is privatly owned , thus all moneys made are privately spent, but the NZFBB which is a incorperated society and is member owned(not that they realy care)thus allowing the members to decide weather or not prize money should be awarded, but dont think to hard about this as the NZFBB have no money as the NZFBB president has blown it all!!

personally I believe that NZ is just too small to have more than one federation. it should be amlagamated. Prize money would be nice, although the free tup of protein from the sponsors does me fine :) I wonder what all the money has been spent on? venue hire,,, :wink:

I think it's a great idea, but as frogie says, I think we've got already got too many organisations and competitions for the amount of interest in bodybuilding right now.

I love the idea of prizes and all (who wouldn't?!), but unless you can build the new organisation to such a strength that the others instantly collapse and fold, I'd be concerned about spreading an already small pool of competitors even thinner.

My initial preference was to merge what we've got, and combine the strengths into one bigger, better, stronger whole. But then recently I've been wondering if this is the right approach after all. We'd be creating a monopoly, and we all know that consumers (or in this case, members) aren't best served by a monopoly. Just look at Telecom a few years back!

Yes it is far to small for all the current federations and slowly thay must be realising this, all the shows here in Auk this year have had dissmal turn outs, with most compettitors winning by default rather than comparrison, I wonder if some one actualy put a decent proposel together to form a co,op if it would be contemplated, or if the the powers that be would not allow it. the NZFBB could easily do it via membership vote, remeber the members are meant to call the shots , but i think Nabba would be a hard nut to crack, Jim Pitt and Peter Hardwick have it all to them selfs for to long, although knowing Peter i think he would come around.I think the trick would be to have it negotiated by someone who has a open and honest agenda and to be abel to keep it still financialy viable for all parties concerned.

I think as time goes by changes are going have to be contemplated of this nature, more sooner than later i would expect, I know if i was manageing any of the federations this would certantly be in my agenda and bussiness forecast!! for the good of our sport!!( they do it in europe ya know so why not NZ)

Prizes sound good, even from an outsiders point of view things seem a shambles as stated with some organisations, I too have been looking at taking things more seriously though not getting any younger! It would be so much more enticing of things could be tidied up.

Pseuydeom, a monopoly over what, theres not that many of us to class it as a monoply, hell if you didnt like the way it is run you would all have the right to vote the management out just like they have now.

You know it doesnt have to be that complicated, the job of the co-op would be simple realy, to run god damm spectacular BBshows, with all shows building towards the ultimate show per annum, the nationals.you could even have the nationals as the show where all overseas represntation is picked and awarded for both NABBA and IFBB international shows, or you could choose 2 shows a year for international slection.The overall MR NZ Miss NZ and MISS Figure would be nominated by the coop for Pro Status each year, plus what i thought would be a excellent idea would be to have a annual sponcership draft at the Nationals, where companys go into a draw to pick the face of their products for the following year , you could have 5-6 sponcer contracts up for grabs per annum, along with prize money and even maybe a trip to the Arnold classic for some lucky competitor.

Drug testing would be done in accordance to the requirements of the International shows requirements, and all those athletes whom nominate themselfs for selection at a international drug tested show would enter into a agrement with the co-op where upon if they a failed test, all testing costs must be refunded to the co-op, if not cool you are off to the worlds with funding!

I beleive there is plenty of scope for it to work and I wouldnt worry about it becomeing a monoply because under this regeim all would be kept happy, hell I would also look at doing a special natrual event per annum WITH TESTING that would act as a feeder to the Natural worlds or Natural olympia !!! It could be done you know !!I have spoken to lots of sponcers about this type of format and they have all said they would much perfer it this way and would come back to the sport if it ever happened!!

just keep adding them one after the other. then when you have as many as you want , enter the post as normal..
