When i First started training at the gym a few guys use to train in bear feet. A guy ( Shane ) was taking a 20kg plate off the bench press bar, he sliped...... droped the weight and it landed square on this big toe!!!!! I never thought a toe could bleed that much!! it spilt the skin down both sides of his toe.

Everyone now has to wear shoes lol

I remember an brief in the paper about 8 years ago of a 20kg plate landing on Big Kiwi's foot.

There was something remiss about that article.

I saw a guy at my gym doing the 1/4 squats on a smith machine. He was really racking it up! From the size of his legs I knew he was in trouble if he went down too far. I was going to say something to him but didn't, when he got up to 6 x 20kg plates per side he de-racked and it all came crashing down on him. He fu*k^d his leg big time and was lucky he didn't die!!

I feel bad about not saying anything, But he learnt a lesson the hard way!!

If you can't squat it low don't bother. :naughty:

When i first started squats I was pushing myself and my training partner was doing the same. got to 150kg and to 'get used to the weight' only did some half reps. Since this was our 6 or 7th set at squats I started to go down till my quads gave out completely dropping me to the floor and the bar rolled up my neck and over my head. the saftey bars were set at min height and luckily didnt get hurt. Dropped the weight and continued on with my workout.
