20. Rack And Roller

This has to be seen to be believed: this guy goes to the dumbbell rack, picks the dumbbells off the rack, places them on the floor and then rolls them to whatever bench he's working on.

When he's done, he rolls them back. It's a good thing too... I mean I wouldn't want him to exert himself!!

Aww mannnn..

Damm We do that all the time there is quite an art to placing next to the bench

you forgot to mention

1. The cell phone guy, who digs past all the mis stacked weights to rack the 2.5kg plates on to the barbell, readys himself for his first set only to be texting on his phone for the next 10mins before realising he has to be somewhere else and leaves

OR

2. The skinny muscleless turds who feel the need to tell you to slow your negatives down in the middle of your 30kg standing dumbell curls yesterday night(if I wasnt so exausted and depleted sum1 was gonna get DROPPED! :naughty: )

This was me working out when I broke my ankle.

I've seen a few 10-kg rack-n-rollers, but at least the guy I saw in Wellington rolling dbs with a leg in a cast was rolling heavy weights and he had his crutches as further obstacles to deal with!

..and actually, I think I recognised myself in about half those descriptions

One I've not seen described is the death-grip cardio exponent. Sits on a treadmill, maximum incline, with both hands squeezing grim death out of the grab handles. One lady I see quite a lot seems to be convinced that there are free carbs inside, if she just squeezes hard enough! To her credit though, she is getting fitter and faster, and she's turning up often - which is more than you can say for the once-a-week "regulars"...

The last rack and roller I saw was at the Akld Uni gym years ago. Guy was huge. Benched 180kg for reps. Guess he was saving his strength for his lifts. Not that I would've wanted to make an issue out of it  Ah excuse me you huge b*tch could you not be such a p*ssy and stop rolling the weights?

There's a guy at my gym who has a personal trainer and is always talking on his cell. He's halfway through a set of db presses and drops them to answer his phone!!

There are currently about 7 or 8 'confirmed sightings' pictures of Gym-rat in his Yellow Outfit and a few collectors editions featuring bonus Sunglasses INSIDE the gym.

I would love to make them into a collage, get Gymrat to sign it and put it on Trademe at $1 reserve :pfft:

16. The Wanderer

This guy combines his love of walking with weightlifting. His routine: load the bar up, do a set, walk around the gym for 10 minutes and repeat 4 or 5 times. My favorite is when they load up a bar, leave it in the squat rack and come back and curl it. What a winner!!

Hahah.. Auckland Uni gym is packed with these guys. So frustrating..
