Loose body fat

Hi,

I'm wanting to lose a bit of bf and wanted some advice...

Currently I spilt my workouts reasonably equally between cardio & weights. I diet is reasonably good, but I need to up my protein intake. In my reading and research on the net I've found a lot of info on theromogenics and those sort of supplements.

Just wondering if they are actually worth it? Or is my diet eternally more important than that?

I've heard a bit about eating 5-6 smaller meals per day as well to increase metabolism - any truth to this?

any advice is much appreaciated,

thanks

Forgot about thermos, you don't need them. They are not particularly healthy, make you feel pretty average and don't make a particularly big difference.

Yes, you should be aiming for 5 to 6 meals a day. Daily protein requirements are 1.5-2g per kg of body mass. So if you weigh 80kg, you would aim for about 160g/day. I'm told by a dietitian that the body can't process more than 2g/kg a day so don't bother going over that.

You want to work out your BMR and how many calories you burn from exercise and adjust your food to be in a slight deficit of this.

As a frame of reference, you will need to burn 8000 calories to burn a kilogram of fat. You can actually get through this pretty quickly if you're active and have a good diet.

Horleys ripped is a good protein shake for weight loss/shredding

every 30g it has about 25g of good protein, .7g of carbs and .4 of fat. tastes pretty nice too

thermos do help but the most important thing is your diet and cardio. without that, thermos wont do shit.

try keep to the 5-6 meals a day. cut out as much carbs as you can, but when you do eat carbs make them good ones. eg/wholemeal bread instead of white. brown rice instead of white.

if you can get your hands on a body for life e-book, I'd recommend reading it. if you follow that you will see huge improvements over 3 months.
