Auckland: Weights+kickboxing

Is there any gym in Auckland that has a kickboxing area with, like, heavybags and punchbags aswell as your regular free weights and so on?

Preferably in the city centre but anywhere?

Try Auckland University gym. Last time I trained in it, there was an area for kick boxing on second level of the gym. From memory it was fairly small but still maybe suited for what you're after. Weights are on level 1.

Dunno if ETK in New Market still runs its a Kick Boxing gym with all the equipment. Or Balmoral Le Gar :nod:

I used to go to Planet Health a while back. Ray Sefo's Fight Acadamy was part of the gym but they obviously weren't doing too well because last time I showed up it had turned into a paint factory :?

Les Mills city club has a good kickboxing area and weights etc. It just depends whether you want to spend a bit more on your membership. Alternatively, Health and Sports in Karaka Street has older equipment but it still does the job and it has a boxing area too, although I'm not sure on the quality/quantity of the bags there. They're quite friendly so you could just rock up and look around.
