Hey guys its that time of year again and summer is just around the corner!

Need to get out my hammer and chiesel and cut my stomach to pieces!!

Planning on doing some HIIT including sprinting and swimming.

But i dont want to loose any muscle..

What supplements could i take to protect muscle before or after HIIT sessions?(bcaa?,glutamine?)

And would you eat straight after HIIT or wait an hour or so?

Cheers Guys!

Im in a similar situation.Been avoiding the cardio all together but think its time to hang the boxing bag back up and start chasing the kids around the section since the suns out.Think ill just stick to what ive been doing, meal an hour pre workout then dextrose & protein shake post workout then meal 1 hour after that.Seems to be working so unless im told otherwise ill continue to follow this.Hope this helps.

I'd stick to low GI carbs pre and post workout (however if you want to replenish glycogen stores after a WEIGHT training session then its better to go with dextrose + protein shake rather than say brown rice)

If you really want to be safe just do 40 - 50 min moderate intensity cardio (like heart rate between 130 - 150) but HIIT will give u results! It's just a little more catabolic than traditional cardio.

:ditto:

Wouldn't be in your best interests to do HIIT fasted, but the low intensity stuff would be OK. If you're that worried about it, have a protein shake afterwards :)

Imo, I wouldn't worry too much about supplementing with BCAAs etc until you get to the leanER stages bit further down the line.
