Hey everybody.

Found this site about a month ago, been a regular visitor ever since.

I've found it to be of great help with my training and nutrition.

I've been training for a couple of months and I've been surprised with my progress. I've read massive amounts of crap online about the subject of bodybuilding and nutrition but also a lot of really good usefull stuff. I've taken a small amount of information from a number of sources and put together my own little plan ,sort of.

I've managed to stay the same weight (79kgs) but get some shape and strength at the same time. That's my goal. Put on muscle, get rid of fat belly.

So, after whinging it for a couple of months I thought I'd ask what I should be doing so I can progress faster.

I've been eating egg whites for bfast, tuna and protein shakes during the day and normal dinners. A big bottle of water and a can of tuna at bedtime aswell. All up 6-7 meals. But less than 2000 cals a day. Around 150gr of protein and 200gr of carbs. Heaps of fat in the three cans of tuna.

Training wise i've been doing mostly compound excercises and a few single joint ones 3-4 days a week. Been making sure I work on my weak points first even though I feel like a wuss when I'm working on my triceps. But by the end of the session I can barely walk and I feel quite sick. Motivation is certanly not a problem. I go untill I'm completely motherfu@#$%ed.

Anyway...

Should I keep going like this or should I change things around a bit?

Thanks reading this rant. Looking forward to read comments. :)

Sounds like your well on your way, a few possibilities that may mean your not progressing as fast as you'd like IMO.

In no particular order -

a) Not enough protein, some people get away with 1g / Lb, others need to go up to 2.5g / Lb, see what works for you, same with carbs, if you have a really high metabolism 200g a day might not be enough, but is a safe starting point.

b) Your rep range might be to high or low for what your body needs to grow, again differs from person to person, but anything around 8-12 and you should be good, some people get great growths out of as low as 4-6reps and same for 12-15. However this early on for you it shouldn't make a huge difference

c) Your making good progress already, just be patient and make sure you take some photos, weight and tape measurements to gauge progress well!

My 5cents, I imagine it'd be a little bitta a) mixed with some more c)
