Ab routines

4 things I'm doing now which are just part of my routine but seem to hit my abs harder than any stuff I've done before are:

Chin-Up -- especially when done slow and with pauses mid way

Dumbbell pullovers -- again especially if you do it slow and pause

Barbell rollouts -- works well, an ezi curl bar is better for the wrists than a wheel

One arm bent over dumbell rows --

I read that about.com list a while ago too and I think it's bullshit to be honest.

It's like the bicep thing, what seems to work best (purely IMO) is big exercises, many of which are not even touted as being 'ab' exercises.

Chin-ups have been best for my arms

Deadlifts best for my traps.

etc etc...

I guess if you're really big already or on gear, then isolation exercises will do you good. But mostly they seem like a waste of time for hardgainers and average people...

sorry for the rant..
