Test and high LDL levels.

I was told and have read that one of the side effects of Testosterone is lowering cholesterol. Heres one study I have read...

http://www.mmipowertraining.com/forum/s ... hp?t=14837

I played with test and ended up with really high LDL levels. Ok could have been due to my diet. Since coming off test I have gotten really strict with my diet. All the right foods rich in omega 3s, Pink Salmon, walnuts, etc. Foods high in Vitamin B groups, folate, etc. My LDL level after a month of no test and a very strict diet is still very high.

Im now trying Liptor to bring it down. What I want to know is, in your experience, what does testosterone do for your cholesterol levels? Is one of the effects of taking test, lowered cholesterol, or is that false as I suspect... Also does anyone have any advice on how to lower high LDL or am I now doing about all I can?

Any advice appreciated.

IronGame, I found one of your posts and was wondering if you could explain what you meant?

And as for the cholesterol debate, there is a big difference between dietary cho and what is measured in the body. When I have clients come to me with high LDL and low HDL I get them to eat 3 poached eggs ( or raw if there hard core for breakfast everyday and get there lipid profiles retested after 6 weeks and every single one of them has come back with greatly improved profiles, that is when (and not before) I tell them to tell there doctors that that is what they have in place there lipid problems, of course the doctors are at a loss but many are starting to come around.

so your being very strict on your diet now and having no cheat meals or fatty/cholesterol foods at all ?

i think you need to be honest....... and if you are being honest then give it another month your body is probably still screwed from that cycle you did

My diet is very strict. Heres a quick sample of it.

Breaky, a very small bowl of home made muslie, which consists of walnuts, pumpkin seeds, 50% oates, redgrapes (currants) and goji berries in soymilk with 3 tablespoons of protein powder..

Lunch, Canned Tuna and large salad in whole grain toast. (Sandwidch)

Tea, Fresh microwaved Pink Salmon on a bed of salad. Oil free dressing.

Tea, fruit and protein drink or a can of Tuna/Sardines..

With the odd bit of fruit inbetween and plenty of mugs of green tea...

If im awake late I may throw in some protein powder before bed.

I use either whey, rice, or soy protien powders.. That gives you an idea of my diet. Oh and my main luxery, The very odd charlies pure fruit drink or glass of red grape juice...... That pretty much sums up my diet

As far as im aware lipids will be affected adversly by the use of testosterone in men that do not have a low natural test already. But by far the biggest factor is diet. I'd say eat clean and get re tested in a month or so, I would add 10-20gm of fish oil to your daily intake also to help remedy this.

thanks Irongame. Already taking fishoil caps. 2X 1000mgs per day. Also vitamin B and folate also now adding Liptor to the equation.

So when you say anyone taking test, their lipids will be adversley affected, does that mean most people that use test, just live with the high LDL/cholesterol levels during their cycles?

increased estrogen levels due to test increase in the blood should help balance out the HDL/LDL levels, also increasing your omega levels like iron game said should help keep them within okish levels.

yes test products will rasie you cholesterol levels anyway so the worst thing you can do is have a diet high in staturated fats ect... not that yours is

thank you IronGame, MrNatural and Luigi. Advice has been appreciated. Looks like I can only stay strict with my diet, exercise fishoil etc and see what happens... Hopefully the Liptor will do the trick, even though I hate the crap.. If I cant get this high LDL undercontrol, then its curtains for the Test.. bugga..... Will test my bloods again on the 25th and repost results if anyones intersted.....

Actually whats happening is Im an older guy who's in to boxing. Getting beaten around by the younger guys. Tired of being beaten to the punch during sparring.....

While on test, my energy levels were far superior, better speed, better stamina, better performance overall. Was doing ok, now back to natural and just end up being a punchbag. Nice shiner from last nights sparring session lol... Also while on test, (doing weights as well), good muscle increase, lost fat, felt good. Would live on test if it was possible.

Is there anything else I could/should consider to aid in performance, aside from giving up the boxing? Thanks again for the advice guys, been much appreciated...

2x 1000mgs = 2gm IMO you will need 5-10x that much (i.e. 10-20gm) to see marked change in your profiles.

wow, I thought that amount and the fact i was having fish at least twice if not three times a day would suffice. Thats an eye opener. The scarey thing is I put on weight if I so much as walk past a piece of choclate. Thats quite a bit of oil for some one to consume thats trying to lose weight isnt it? Hmmmmm, looks like I may have to up the amount that Im taking considerably. Guess Im doing enough cardio to burn it off. Ok, cool, thanks for the heads up IronGame. I will take your advice......

Glad I posted in here, your post may have been the answer I have been seeking. Awesome. thank you mate...
